Roger Stone predicted Michelle Obama

Jul 8, 2022, 9:31 PM

Will be the next presidential candidate for the Democrats. I think stone is very corrupt, but at the same time he is brilliant in many ways as it relates to politics. I bet she could win the nomination. My gut is she would lose as long as the Republican candidate is not Trump. Will be very interesting to follow this.

Unless inflation suddenly disappears, gas prices drop back to near Trump Era prices, etc I don't think ANY democrat will win in 2024.

Plus the fact that we just don't have any "stars" at the moment really worries me.

Personally, I think Hillary will give it one more try.

After the November vote a star May emerge.

Depending on the margin of victory, Beto O’Rourke as newly elected Governor could be the front runner.

Democrats will gather a lot of votes, likely enough to win if the ticket does NOT have Biden or Harris on it.

I just have a hard time seeing Beto as a "front runner" for anything.

I mean, the man managed to lose to Ted Cruz.

Finishing a close second to Ted Cruz is not a badge of honor, Beto. Plus, he was the most comically inept of any of a not-great lot in the last Dem primary, unless you count Marianne Williamson. I would have reluctantly voted Beto over Marianne. Though I'd have had to think about it.

Beto O'Rourke may be a star to the Daily Kos crowd, he won't be a star to independents.

I just don't see it.

Also, he won't win Texas.

Hopefully, some election losses will move the current prominent leftist philosophy of Dems towards the center. And hopefully, the Pubs won't be dumb enough to run Trump.

She would get a lot of the black vote because she’s black and a Democrat

Jul 8, 2022, 9:39 PM

but I don’t see her winning over moderates and independents. I also think Republicans would find her so objectionable that they would turn out in force to vote against her (much like they did to vote against Hillary in 2016 and Democrats did to vote against Trump in 2020).

Yes, we find her outrageously objectionable. She hates the USA like few others - would be good for the pubs to have her run.

Re: Horrified to say it, but M.O. could be El Presidente

Jul 9, 2022, 9:19 PM

I hope you're right in that many Americans wouldn't care for Michelle Obama.

But dang, I run into a lot of otherwise normal Americans who don't keep up with politics, but like the nice smile and good enough voice quality from M.Obama enough to be drawn to her. And while no beauty, she's not physically unpleasant for someone her age.

This group of Americans are neither reliable Righties or Lefties ... they are that mystifying (and large) sub-group of the "independent / undecided" voter set.

This sub-group of the "independent / undecided" voter group are not (necessarily) dumb; they just don't take time to be informed about ANYTHING as far as how policies affect their lives (except for hearing about stuff such as R.v.W. and the 911 Terrorist attack).

M.Obama has name recognition comparable to that of Hillary; but Hillary's too-often screechy voice isn't pleasant to many of these

If M.Obama runs, she darn well could win the Dem primary and then win the general election.

If M.O. wins El Presidente, then the world will be flooded again from all the tears streaming down my face.

If Michelle does become a serious candidate

Jul 9, 2022, 10:09 PM

it will be entertaining seeing those videos of her dancing on Ellen with what appears to be a pen!5 flapping around under her pants.

That mystery will surely be revisited.

If you look back over the last 50 years if the economy was doing well the incumbent president has won. Obviously the economy sucks now, but I think it’s entirely possible that the economy could be on the upswing in 2024. My opinion of presidents being reelected is dependent upon a lot of luck as it relates to the economy. It’s important to remember that it doesn’t matter what the economy is doing now, it matters where the economy is in 2024.

Both had better foreign policy than grumpy old man. Maybe that’s stone’s expertise.
