an end to the madness. ESPN and the AJC were trying to dig a story and it was the wrong way to handle things. Leaving out sections of his comments wasn't right in my opinion.

when in any doubt about who is telling the truth almost always it is not the REPORTER!! it might not be an OUTRIGHT LIE but the reporter twisted what was said and added his opinion and assumptions to embellish the story!!!remember, how things are presented makes a lot of difference in how things are understood!!!

brought lots of attention to the AJC. Unless he fabricated the quotes, he just did what all media do. Happens in politics all the time. Media or opposing sides take things out of context to make a point or a story.

One of the articles was done by Doug Segrest. His education says Univ Alabama.
Michael Carvell, who wrote I believe the original article, couldn't find anything except graduated from Goose Creek HS in 79, and lives in Dalton, GA. Everything I saw ends with Goose Creek, leading one to think he may not have graduated college. ..don't know. If anyone has anything else, let us know.

often take it out of context, and use it to build a story. Happens all the time in various arenas that media cover.
If he actually said what he was quotes as saying, he should have stuck with his "they twisted my words" stance. He is not media savy and is prone to making mistakes. When asked loaded questions, he may respond the way a reporter wants him to.
On the other hand, now he just called the reporter a liar and stated that he did not say what is being attributed to him. Many journalist keep recordings of their interviews so they can go over it several times to make sure they get the best article and to cover themselves against false accusations.
RN better hope that he reporter does not have a copy. Being called a liar, he may decide to release just that particular quote that has been seized upon and things would then just worse for RN instead of dying down.

Interviewers also go out of their way to make the interviewee feel comfortable and like they can tell them anything. He may have just been being honest with the guy not thinking the way it would be perceived by everyone else. It may be that he was not making demands he was just telling the guy the truth like he was just talking to a friend without thinking how it sounds to the masses.

gets and the coverage of recruiting in general these days.
Many of these young men really like the attention but are not ready to deal with professional media that are looking for stories.
Smartest thing they could do is simply not grant requests for interviews.
