Was a lot of questionable information about the man at the end, but the one year at Clemson gave us some publicity.
Maybe germans but I hadn't seen anything posted on TNet.

As his son, Mark is a fellow alum and member of our 1981 NC football team so respect and prayers to him and his family as well.

I read somewhere that Jerry & his wife met when she (a Winthrop student) picked him up (a Wofford student) when he was thumbing from Murrells Inlet to Myrtle Beach. Lots of Clemson boys have Winthrop wives. I also saw him and his wife at Lee’s Inlet Kitchen in Murrells Inlet. They acted like regular folks even though his net worth is in the $2 billion range.

About 8 years ago at a restaurant in Charlotte, my then 2 yo wouldn't sit still if you glued him to his seat. He insisted on walking around and fist bumping anyone that would engage with him. Jerry gave him one and gave him a big ole smile. Alright in my book if you ask me...

My roommate ordered a hot dog with "just chili" from the old Hardee's in Clemson. Got back to the dormroom and opened the old styrofoam container to find a bun with chili, no hot dog weiner. I will never forget the look on his face as he tried to explain to the manager on duty how the order was not correct.

Jerry made huge millions off an NFL franchise in Charlotte..

and his group sold me & ten's of other thousands a hard chair to help pay for the franchise & stadium Plus season tixs!
Saying, I had the the opportunity to buy or not and I did and thus have my name on a huge Panther statue outside, got to see 5-6 years of NFL football (at Clemson with many games boring except that Dallas Monday night game where stadium rocked for a victory)..
plus I used the venue to invite family & friends and when selling my 2 expensive chair rights to man who sat next to me I got all my $ back and it was something I'm glad I did.
Jerry should be given credit for bringing NFL to the area and not be remembered for demanding female staff to wear bluejeans to work on Fridays (and other inappropriate deeds he was charged with and relieved).
I found him to be a gentleman & Father of two fine Sons.
Oh, Mr Richardson made his initial millions thru his highly successful & huge Hardees regional franchise group of stores located in Spartanburg named Spartan Foods.
Not sure if he owned the super one in Clemson with those great biscuits.
R.I.P. Sir~
