RIP Batman, does anyone remember when Adam West visited CU?

Jun 10, 2017, 10:41 PM

I think it was 1991 or 1992. I seem to remember him doing a speech at Tillman Hall and then they played the 1966 Batman movie at the Y theater. Pretty cool...

I do remember West recruiting Ahmad Carroll to Arkansas in the bat mobile.

I had forgotten about that...

Thanks for the memory.
I was there between '87 and '91, but I couldn't tell you exactly which year it was. My guess is '89 or '90 since that's when the new (first) "modern" Batman movie was released. I lived in Johnstone fall '87 until spring '90, so I'm thinking I saw the flyers posted during that time. I went to the Y movie but not the lecture or Q&A or whatever.

It was 1989 I believe. I was a member of Beta Theta Pi at CU when someone discovered West too was a Beta. So all the guys at the Beta house went to the Y to meet/get autographs from him. We invited him downtown for drinks and to our surprise, he accepted. West at the time was a well known to enjoy a few drinks. He drank us under the table. Very cool guy. Partying with Bateman was one of my best memories of CU.
