Around age 40 after my pool game was fading, slacked off the bars and took up jogging. I have done around 75 Marathons. I understand it, trained smart and did well.

It is not about what you do on race day, but about what you do the months before you line up. No event requires more.
Most runners never seem to grasp that fact.

Kelvin Kiptum died in a car crash today. At Chicago he ran 2:00.35. That is not possible for a human, but he did it.
I can think of no record in sports that is the equal of that.

That record will hold until a R (for Robot) is added to the long list of letters - LGBTQ

13 mph for 26 miles. Amazing.
Sad to go out at that age. None of us are promised tomorrow.

I took it up late near 40 after fun years in bars and pool rooms. I was too big and too fat, but have had fun.
My best mile was at 41 with a 4:51. It nearly killed me. I was attacking my friend Larry who held the state record back then.

The mile aint like the Marathon, nothing is, not even a 50 mile race.
