Coaches that need to be let go

Offensive Line and replace with Pittman from Arkansas as someone said earlier.
Grisham and replace with Jeff Scott, already in town.
Reilly and replace with Morris, already on staff as consultant.
Spiller and replace with a proven rb coach.

Two national titles in three years, and two runner-ups in January 2020. We can hire anyone we want. We can recruit anyone we want. Hired a bunch of former players with no experience and got out recruited by about 8 teams in the country each year. We did not capitalize on those titles. We got complacent. We let a bust qb recruit hold the position too long. We let walk-ons get full scholarships instead of look for a replacement for the position. We ignored the portal. Now we are back at square one in order to compete for titles.

Agree. Riley is fine. He just needs to bring in his own people.

Nobody can run their offense under these circumstances.

And lol @ replacing with Morris. There’s a reason he’s not an on the field coach anywhere in America.

This opinion is actually crazy. I get the criticism of the position coaches, especially Grisham and Austin. But wanting to fire Grisham after 7 games is so stupid.

We need coaches with fire in their bellies. Like BV. It’s contagious. Humpty Dumpty doesn’t have it. And I haven’t really seen it with Reilly either.

Why does his post bother you? I’m not attacking you, I’ve just noticed that you seem a little annoyed when people suggest a coach should be replaced. I’m just a fan and could care less who the coach is as long as they win.

Francis Marion®. Are you available to coach the OL soon? You have as much experience as some of our coaches did when they started and you got “X” /twitter followers

Re: Coaches that need to be let go

Oct 24, 2023, 11:11 AM

Riley is not the issue.

There may be some assistants replaced. But I don't blame them, like Street, put in a bad spot.

But everything would look better if we tweaked a few things.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Firing Riley would be idiotic..the first two mentioned are necessary***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no on Riley

1

Oct 24, 2023, 11:16 AM

Ya'll remember how stagnate our offense got under Morris late in his tenure? Remember the up tempo games where we would go 3 and out in 15 seconds. I'm not a fan of gimmick offenses just like I wasn't a fan of the full court press (always no matter what) that PUrnell ran. Works against scrub teams but good teams devour you.

I'm good with Offensive Line and WR coaches being replaced though. And we need to hire another recruiting guru.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: no on Riley

Oct 24, 2023, 12:08 PM

Nailed it. Morris offense was a complete disaster his last few games here. That ship has sailed long ago! The problem is, Dabo is STILL trying to use it.

My biggest coaching concerns ranked...

Oct 24, 2023, 11:25 AM

1. Grisham
2. Goodwin/Conn (one or both)

I'm not sure what is so broken about our offense but we need to take more freedom from Cade.

The defense is NOWHERE near as good as the stats suggest. They are possibly swiss cheese at any moment.... even if they do well for stretches.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree with all but Morris

1

Oct 24, 2023, 11:25 AM

Dudes a has been, stick with Riley but give him full control of the offense

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lemanski Hall is the biggest head scratcher IMO

Oct 24, 2023, 11:26 AM

DE used to be our strength - but recruiting and development there is abysmal.

We got three coaches to be gone Spiller is one , He was Great Back, but he is not a coach, next is Grisham
Wide receiver coach, ant the Last Coach is Goodman Humpty Dumpty defense coach , We was suppose
To have one of the best defense in the country, That was Clemson ,was know for, , But it not there.,

That would be stupid!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't be surprised to see Riley bring in some offensive people to help.

Oct 24, 2023, 1:26 PM

I believe that Garrett was told to work with the staff on hand when he was hired but would be allowed to bring in his own people if it didn't work out well! As we can plainly see, it is broke and the only way to fix it is too change some things(people)!

Sure, let’s call the head coach at Arkansas and ask him to be the o-line coach at an ACC school in turbulent times.

Do those who are saying fire everyone but Dabo realize....

Oct 24, 2023, 8:07 PM

... that it's Dabo who created this mess??? No, I am not suggesting Dabo should go (although I don't

care who the coach is as long as we win) but what I AM saying is... it's rare that the man who

creates problems is the same man who corrects them all. Dabo has proven he'll make tough choices (Riley

for Streeter.) But what we're hearing come out of his mouth this week is concerning. He

seems more stubborn than concerned. Just my observation - I may be wrong. I know he loves Clemson.

But he either (a) knows who needs to go and is waiting until the end of the season (smart), or (b)

is completely committed to his antiquated system and ways of running a college football team, regardless

of how far down it drives us. Only time will tell. Whatever happens, I'd find it hard to believe the

answer is B. And whatever happens, I'm a Tiger win or lose.

Pittman is probably a pipe dream

Oct 25, 2023, 9:44 AM

Worth a call if he gets fired, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Coaches that need to be let go

Oct 25, 2023, 10:00 AM

While we may not have an elite OL coach, the real issue is personnel. We have way too many nice guys on the offensive line. And the team in general. We need some guys that are really hungry to win one on one battles and are much more aggressive than our current players

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Brownell . . . . this is the only correct answer.***

Oct 25, 2023, 10:02 AM

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

I thought you left in 2014. Bye Felicia.***
