Regarding Vennables

Sep 26, 2012, 11:31 AM

I think a lot of us on here (myself included) wanted to think BV could come in here and turn our D around overnight but after Saturday it's clear that our problems go more than skin-deep. You don't give up 70 points to a team and fix it quickly.

He clearly needs to (and obviously has) shouldered some of the blame for FSU but a lot of what we saw in that game were problems that began before Vennables arrived.

You don't stick around a place like OK for 12 years if you're a bad coach. It may take longer than we thought but BV will get it fixed.

Can we let some of the subs start? I don't think they will do much worse over the course of a game. Let the linebacker attack anybody coming across the middle short. That will stop that play!

Starting LBs should be Steward, Townsend, and Anthony. Might as well go ahead and get the young guys ready since apparently next year is the "next year" in "wait til next year."

COLLEGE: A three-year starter at strong safety for Clemson, finished his career with 234 tackles and 11 interceptions.

Shuey has proven himself as well. I'd like to see a 3-4

look to give you better athletes a chance to make plays. Keep Reader, Beasley, Williams on the field on the line.

I've actually been impressed with Shuey as well. His instincts seem spot on and he is aggressive towards the ball carrier. He just needs to be a bit quicker IMO to be a full time starter.

That's big of you - then we can assume you'll be taking....

these players need to graduate

Sep 26, 2012, 12:12 PM

until hall, meeks, willard, brewer, robinson, christian graduate, don't expect any improvement.

its that simple

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed. We saw Morris with less experience

Sep 26, 2012, 12:20 PM

come in and turn the O around in one year. It was easier to expect BV to do the same.

If the committed sign and DT Adams we'll see a big improvement on D next year.

Totally agree. Give the man time. I love his sideline intensity
