Recruiting Morris and Auburn

What are your thoughts on recruiting a certain type of player to fit a scheme when you know your coordinator probably will leave for a HC job? Do you just have to assume you will keep that style in the future?
I look back at Auburn and how far they fell the one year that their OC left only to be back in no time. Scheme?

Clemson is invested in the spread/HUNH.
Regardless of what Morris does, Clemson will stick with that system as long as CDS is here.
Auburn had such a huge fall off last season because they hired a coordinator that had a totally different system. Loeffler was a bad hire, too.
Take a look at Auburn this year. One year removed from trying to be a power-run team, they switch back to the spread and they're 7-1 or something. They have the right players for their offense, just as long they stick with that scheme. Just like Clemson.

How quick people forget. Morris had his O when he

came here. His offense had no plan for a TE(go back read the articles with Allen) , Dabo told him to learn how to put a TE in his offense. Now it seems to be sputtering just a tad because the TE's are not what they were.
All that was said to point out, when Chad leaves, Dabo will find a man to run the offense the way he wants it run. Besides ,with what Clemson pays an OC, perspective OC's will be calling Dabo before Morris can get his bags packed.

In the first meeting between chad and the team he told Dwayne Allen he would be a star. I'm not so sure chad did not use the TE before coming here

Auburn had the talent for a good year last year. Now I think their opening game loss to us had something to do with their momentum in a negative way. We certainly helped get their season off to a bad start and sometimes it just snowballs.
But Chizik wanted to move towards a power run game like Alabama. At times they were trying to run a power game and at times they were trying to run a spread.
So basically they had no offensive identity. Which is exactly how Clemson was under Swinney and Napier. We had no offensive identity that season because one coach wanted to run the power and Dabo wanted to run the spread.
And the results for both programs were pretty bad.
Auburn has been great at recruiting on the lines. They are a team you don't want to face the next few seasons.

Do you get the idea about Dabo telling Morris to use the TE?
He ran very similar packages at Tulsa. The TE is the key to our offense. We have been lucky to have great blocking and receiving threats at the TE position. Lately we don't have great blocking from the TE position. The TE is the X factor, extra blocker than can spread out wide, gives us a numbers advantage when running reads and sweeps.
Also, one of the main differences between Morris and Malzahn, is that Morris throws more, maybe to set up the run. Malzahn is committed to running more to set up the pass. When Morris first arrived he stated he wanted to be a smash mouth type running team. It seems we got away from that but got back to it vs Virginia. Interested to see how November plays out.

My first wife said "til death do us part". Turns out, it only took a dude with a lot more money.
