Recruiting is one of those things that most adults realize

they probably should not be following closely, but because they are so obsessed with football and starved for news they are nearly pushed into it. I think I fall under this category.
But the ones who follow recruiting as if it's another season of football. Keeping up with or celebrating recruiting rankings as if they have some value, speculating on the comments of high school kids, trashing players when they go elsewhere, these people are problems to the sport of football and problems to society in general.

The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules...we did.
But you can't hold a whole fan base responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole NCAA? And if the whole NCAA system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, CSO...isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

I follow recruiting closely, but I don't bash players for going elswhere. It's a free country and they can go where they want. I love recruiting especially when we pull in talent like we have lately.
