Not every player can graduate high school early for the early enrollment period. There may be a requirement he's missing and must complete first, maybe he's short a math credit? Speculating, but I think most students would prefer to enroll early to get started on the campus life earlier.

Some high schools are not on the semester program so there is not an option to finish in December.

Yeah that dude does not need to enjoy his senior year and go to prom and hang out with his friends. He needs to entertain Tigernet!

Not everyone cares about Prom; my son almost didn't go his senior year. As I stated above, there may be reasons he can't enroll early, or maybe he's doing as you said, enjoying his final few months in high school with his friends. I think all the OP is trying to say is it would be nice for him to start practicing with the team in the spring instead of waiting for the fall. He might be able to earn a starting spot, or at least be higher on the depth chart. I don't think anyone's calling for him to miss out on finishing school with his friends. Maybe he's staying to walk across the stage for his Mom?

Nothing wrong with posting an opinion, no reason to make snide remarks over an opinion.

We know a couple of players who are enrolling at UTK early this year and were getting ready to start bowl practice with the team. One was a little nervous and the other was very nervous about suddenly being in college halfway through his senior year. I wish we didn’t rush the kids nowadays but that’s what happens when your roster is talent-poor. You have to give the fan base some reason to hope.

His school doesn’t allow for early graduation! I am pretty sure that is the only reason that he isn’t enrolling early!
