The fact that he’s not in the portal yet leads me to believe he will be heading to the NFL.

He may stick around. I just personally don’t think he’s a fan of splitting time with Mafah. I mean it seemed pretty evident that he was disgruntled a majority of the season.

I hope that wasn’t the case because Mafah has handled the entire situation with grace. Never once has he his frustrations on the field. I love Shipley and I’m a big fan but I was a tad disappointed in his attitude this year. No one really knows the cause of his feelings but it may have been internal issues with his own frustration to play up to his potential

He probably still, incorrectly, thinks he's RB1. It's very obvious he's not as good as Mafah. I wonder which NFL team or elite program is attracted to his pouty, whiney attitude?

Looked to me like he was tired of his OL and being ran up the middle all game behind OL that were being blown off the ball. Shipley and Mafah are roommates and when they came in they were excited to be thunder and lightning. People are too quick to judge. I doubt Shipley has any ill feelings toward Mafah, I don't doubt he was pissed that people act like he's trash after Mafah broke out vs ND.

If you saw the hug the two of them shared on the field in DV at the end of the senior day game you’d have no doubt that there is no animosity between them. My guess would be that he is waiting to see how his NFL draft grade looks. Then he will decide between the draft or staying at Clemson.

The NFL does not usually take risks on smaller players who have ball security problems. I would think he is well aware of that or should be. If he is getting good advice he'll probably stay one more season. He could transfer, but I don't see him getting picked up ba a program of Clemson's caliber. In his case, he's probably better off dancing with the girl he came to the ball with.

I don't know the process or timing for getting an NFL grade but I'm guessing they could be trying to figure that out. I've been doing my own google search of draft projections and the consensus I come up with for him seems to be 3rd round.
I don't know what his expectations are for a go or no-go decision to the NFL but I'm sure we will begin to hear something shortly. I could also see him at least exploring a transfer if he felt he could be the feature back in a strong program, and not have to split reps, to try and improve his draft stock.

With the ball security problems this year, I would be absolutely shocked to see him higher than a 5th round draft grade, if not a FA grade. Gallman put up WAAAAY better numbers than Ship and he was a 4/5 round grade (I think).

The NFL is over-stocked with good RB's. A guy has to be a real standout in just about every category to get picked up. There can't be any major flaws, like having a case of fumblitis. I don't see him having any draft potential unless he stays one more year and proves he learned not to drop the ball. I think he should move to slot receiver as well. He's the perfect size for that position and tough enough to take it.

And it seems TE’s and WR’s are more important in the NFL with so many mobile QB’s. It seems teams do not invest as much now in RB’s as in the 80’s and 90’s.

I think he liked the role he had in 2022 and making All ACC at 3 positions. This year was quite a departure from that and I believe he thinks he lost ground because of it. You never know what kind of advice these guys are getting from the outside.
I hope he stays and returns to form next season.

He's going to suck it up and embrace his role as the change of pace / utility back. Also, needs to hit the weights hard this off season. Would not be surprised if Dabo laid some tuff facts regarding his current projections etc. Both backs need to get better this off season.

Before Shipley goes through the TP or even into the NFL he should research T. Feasters experience and transfer to S.C. I believe he would have received more carries if he had stayed at Clemson.
IMO Muschump sold Feaster a bad deal indicating he could be the featured RB. At times it seems as though he was the 3rd option and never was the main RB.
It seems like he torched the bridges with Dabo too. And I believe as good a man as Dabo is that would take something really nasty by Feaster.
Anyone know more details. I believe he did mention at a press conference he had trashed all of his Clemson stuff. Not 100 % sure if that’s true.
But I hope Shipley and Mafah think before jumping ship.

If true i hope feaster is never back on campus, i remember he initially came to clemson because spurrier was rude to his mom allegedly at an event, so he chose clemson but was always a gamecock, when etienne clearly passed him by he threw a fit and went to coot town, getting less carries and being lied too my muschamp

Getting less carries? Feaster had a career high in carries, yards, and catches during his year at SC and he nearly doubled the amount of carries he had in the previous season even though he played in 5 fewer games.

He’s coming back. Too much fire in his belly to quit after a disappointing performance. Him and Mafah both back is why Quad portaled. Just my guess and hope all rolled into one.

Or a few others on offense. Perhaps waiting to see who enters portal or what offers are out there before entering. It’s always a risk breaking up with the girlfriend if you don’t already have a new one in place before cutting ties.
