No way Morris leaves for another OC job

Jan 8, 2014, 10:08 PM

He has all the pieces to build a dominant offense if he really is the genius that I think he is. In a couple years every head coaching job that opens up will have him as #1 and he will get his choice.

It'd be nuts for Texas to cover a buyout only to see him

bolt for a HC job in the next 1-2 years. That "report" doesn't add up.

If you're an OC looking to make a name for yourself

Why in the world would you leave D. Watson and all the other skill potential at CU.

Agree. There is no gain for him to be an OC somewhere else.

If you don;t think Texas has 5 star talent and can get it every year you are kidding yourself

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because $$$ is a problem for him now?

Jan 8, 2014, 10:15 PM

Dude wants a legit job and it looks like CU can springboard him there. Why would he try to reboot the same gameplan somewhere else.

Totally agree! Morris will not even consider an OC job, he's waiting (and certainly can afford to) for the right head coaching position, at the right school, and at the right time.

Gee thanks cootstripe. We were worried without your opinion.***

Actually, that's been precisely my thinking all along. Even

Jan 9, 2014, 4:43 AM [ in reply to Re: No way Morris leaves for another OC job ]

though the OC job at UT would be considered by many to be a step-up in prestige, Morris may well believe he won't need any more prestige than what he's already receiving at CU to land a good HC gig.

He more than likely, also, knows that accepting an OC job at UT or anywhere else may require waylaying his dreams of that HC job for a few more years. Therefore, if the HC offer doesn't arrive quickly, I expect him to remain at CU next season.

He is sitting pretty

Jan 8, 2014, 10:24 PM

He makes head coaching money but doesn't have to worry about everything a HC does. He has a cupboard full of talent. Like I've said, I think we are about to become Oregon but with big bodies in the trenches. That's not exactly a job you leave if you want to make a name for yourself with any and every AD in the country.

I could have seen him leaving for a mid-level HC job if he could have gotten Watson to follow. But now that he is on campus I am much more confident Morris stays in Sunset and Regalia (or whatever) for a few more seasons.

I agree with your post 100%

Jan 9, 2014, 1:31 AM

Morris has all but said that he is already the OC here.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Reality

Jan 9, 2014, 6:05 AM

Let's face it, Morris is basically the head coach now.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His buyout if he leaves for an OC job is huge!!

Jan 9, 2014, 10:49 AM

We could hire anyone with the money whoever takes him pays us!
