Real possibility: 3 time defending Nat Champ UGA opens with Clemson in ‘24

Now, I do NOT think Georgia wins it all this year like most people do. Most people don’t see the game within the game. Very myopic and simplistic. Life does not go according to ######.

Too much has to go your way to win it all. The best team does not always win it. They win it about 60% of the time.

But……if Georgia does win it in ‘23, I HAVE NO WORDS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IN ATLANTA WHEN Georgia and Clemson open the 2024 season.

I have season tickets and will get 2 for that game but will just give them to my Clemson friends and they can fight over them. Will never set foot in Atlanta. Never.

As for 2023, I think Georgia loses 2 games - 1 regular season and the SEC Title game and does not make the playoffs.

Clemson will lose 1 regular season game, but win the ACC Title game. We will see if they make the playoffs under that scenario. I think you will.

Bottom line: Clemson has the talent and the schedule to make the playoffs this season and they have a better chance than Georgia. Yes, I am different than most.

Been playing well lately. Had a 73 on Wednesday at Cateechee - bogey on 17 (AGAIN) and I hate that hole. Playing Boscobel today and always liked that course. Hoping for 75 or better.

Athens, Ga has now become a cesspool of crime and a freak show of epic proportions.

It is really sad. Homeless camps and crime and just a bad situation.

My prayers go out to them, but I will not subject myself to that danger. Never put yourself in a position where bad things can happen. Period.

Asheville takes the cake!

I would like to see some "homeless" camps set up regionally. If you are homeless, you get sent to the camp. If you desire to be homeless, that's your last stop. If you are homeless due to unfortunate circumstances and don't want to be there...you can work your way out.

While there you get food, clothing, and shelter. What you WON'T get is drugs and booze.

Asheville is my city. I don't agree with them letting homeless setup shop on street corners. It's dangerous number one and it is allowing these folks to live a wild life that doesn't deal with obvious mental and drug problems.

Aside from that issue, Asheville is by far the happiest town I've ever lived in. The general population are happy, helpful citizens. Great businesses and thriving music scene and it's nestled next to the greatest stretch of mountains in all of Appalachia. Love it here and that is not even close to changing.

College campuses harbor Marxists. Their ideology spreads rapidly to the surrounding town. Therefore, even in “red” Texas, Austin and Houston are struggling. Even smaller towns like Asheville succumb. Atlanta passed this point long ago. California cities are the warning for us all. They will continue to vote to their own detriment.

I have gone to few Clemson Tech VB games in the daytime that were sorta okay when was living Graniteville but no way I would go to night matches. Right... I mean, I don't live ITP, but, we go downtown fairly often, and I've had no qualms... I even *GASP* ride MARTA and have no issues.

With big events like this anyway, you're going to be around plenty of people that are of the same ilk. yes, there will be homeless trying to cash in on the influx of folks in the area, but, there really shouldn't be any pearl clutching.

And since you obviously can't read - note that nowhere in my post contained the phrase "consecutive years".

I'll type it really slow so you can keep up, but I was asking if Clemson has ever lost ~back to back games~ to the same team. As in: you play one game, then the very next game you play the same team (without playing any game against anyone else in between).

And since you also have a problem with context, since the thread is about our 2024 opener and this year's CFP, it is a possibility if we both make the CFP.

With all due respect.......Anything is possible but last time I checked Watson and Lawrence had run out of eligibility. With a new off. coordinator, a questionable offense, a QB with a single start and more INTs than TDs...... I'm taking the "wait and see approach,"

cuz the last time I checked, midget ran out of eligibility and you've got a failed BOBO for an OC which means the offense is "questionable" with a QB with less passes completed than DJ. I'll take the, "you're full of chit," approach.

Please elborate (not retort) further on BoBo's "failures" as an OC. You probably don't know that Carson Beck has been in the Ga's QB Room for 4 seasons and under Bobo's tuteledge while operating as the Offence Quality Control Analyst in 2022. BoBo played an integral part in last season's offense ranked among the top five nationally in both scoring offense (41.1 ppg) and total offense (501.1 ypg). The ‘Dogs also finished first nationally in red zone offense (97.6%), first downs (375), and fourth down percentage (86.7%). Senior quarterback Stetson Bennett (Coached by Bobo) became the first player to be named the offensive Most Valuable Player in four CFP games including twice in a CFP National Championship Game. I dare say Bobo is slightly more connected to his program versus say...... Riley is at Clemson. I'd like you're opinion on who's OC transition might be smoother....and more successful this season. Your ball cupcake.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lol,

1

Jul 18, 2023, 7:25 PM

Your pal said three seasons so y'all should work out that arithmetic quandary, but just how many's starts, you know, to your troll-pals point.

No-bo "left" because he wasn't good enough with stops at Colorado State and USUC where he was a complete non-factor. Don't you go pulling and straw men now after you C&P'd statistics he can't claim for his own as an OC.

Like I've said more than once to you idiots, it's back to Bo-bo ball whether you want to admit or not that Munchkin was the reason for last years success as well as the year before that. Richt was simply too nice a guy to outright fire his sorryass.

My opinion is Riley, last years' Broyles award winner, whom again, your troll-pal scoffed at in this thread, will have a much easier path that Bo-bo and we can say simply because Bo-bo had the job, failed and went to Colorado State then went to Cola and failed. One is a never was while the other put up video game numbers. Is he on Todd's level yet? Maybe not, but he's certainly far and away a better OC than bo-bo ever has displayed.

Now, get your shine box, redneck.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

failed??

2

Jul 18, 2023, 10:17 PM

In Bobo's previous stint at UGA, his offenses set UGA records, and finished among the National leaders in: Total Offense, Scoring Offense, Passing Offense, Rushing Offense, TDs scored, Rushing yards per play, pass completion percentage, and so on during his last 3 seasons (2012-14). He will have a much more talented roster this year. College Football history is full of guys who were great coordinators but not so great head coaches. Go ahead and tell yourself he'll be a failure. Just don't be surprised when he proves you wrong.
Bobo is a known quantity at UGA. Can't really say that about Riley. Maybe he'll be fine, but Clemson has a history of hiring from within. Will the staff function seamlessly in the heat of battle when the lights are on during year one? Maybe they will, but maybe they won't. It's not a given. And he doesn't have the depth of talent your guys had in your heyday.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Either way, Bobo will prove you or me right and/or wrong over the course of the season. If he face plants this season, I'll have no problem owning up to it. You, on the other hand, will not. It's what you butt-hurt little middle school girls do.

Jul 16, 2023, 9:25 AM

I see Clemson undefeated Natty Champs. I don't see UGA in Natty game lost too much plus Kirby running up score of TCU karma comes to Athens. I do see Alabama in the final 4 after losing 3 games. They squeaked out 4 games last year. I was still totally shocked last season that KSU upset of TCU didn't put Alabama in at 3. Had Clemson beat USC Clemson Alabama would have been toss up stealing TCU 3 spot.

UGA will not be 3 time defending Natty Champ. It will be '23 Champs Clemson versus '21 '22 Champs UGA. Though in totally honesty if officials last year didn't bite it would have been OSU Michigan in that Natty. NCAA always keeds SEC in Natty game. Year Bama beat UGA for Natty was joke cause Alabama wasn't final 4 team. China virus year Alabama beat OSU for Natty where OSU wasn't final 4 game they only played half the season. Big 10 changed their own rule to put them in final 4. NCAA champ series is like NASCAR Chase if certain teams don't make it let change rules at times.

Cory, please go away. But first, when will Georgia get their fines for recruiting violations?

Who the hell else would be more favored to win the natty? The Dawgs will be favored in every regular season game. If they're unbeaten and ranked #1, then lose the SEC Title game they will still be one of the 4 best teams available for the CFP. No brainer.

Because of your easy schedule this year, you need to win...

...the SEC unless you get a lot of help.

A 1 loss UGa with no SEC championship would need at least 2 of the other Power 5 conference champs to have 2 losses (and one needs to be a 'bad' loss).

Example - FSU beats LSU, runs the table but then loses to an 11-1 Clemson team in ACC championship. FSU gets in over UGa if you don't win the SEC.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

Just like Jacksonville isn't a "neutral" field for UGA.
