I am begging you
Take a look at Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss RB transfer.
One big thing is, Will Shipley has left. We have a place to fill. We’ve certainly got new guys coming in. But there’s a spot in need of an experienced player. This guy has been called the best running back in the nation for about a year and a half.
Yeah Blake Corum from Michigan is good, but we’re talking about size and speed. And stats as well obviously.
This is a fast, dominant back. I hate to admit it, but with his talent, he could come in and have a CJ Spiller type of year.
That’s a lot to say, but he’s a 2-time first team all SEC running back. Even with Georgia and Alabama and others who consistently have 1st round talent in that position.
If you landed this guy, and with Mafah, Williams, Wesco, Stellato, Brown, Randall, and some new O-Line with a new coach…There’s enough around Cade to really get going.
This is a playoff type of addition.
I’m sure we’ll probably pass because of commitments. But this link says so, and we could definitely use him.

Don't think this Ole Miss guy would want to split carries with Mafah, assuming Mafah is coming back. This guy is probably looking to be the man. And Clemson probably wouldn't get into an NIL auction for his services.

David Eziomume has been recruiting for Clemson since he committed months ago. He's a team player. I think we saw the difference during the bowl season in having a player invested in the school/team and one invested only in himself.

We need immediate OL and WR help more than we do RB. If we aren’t getting either of those we sure aren’t getting a RB. Face it, the portal is just lip service for some valid and not so valid reasons.

the NFL has devalued the running back position, and wants to get all the bag he can, NOW and in the future.
I wouldn't go after him at all, given that he is a pure mercenary at this point. One more good year, and he will probably opt out of whatever teams bowl game that he winds up on, "to prepare for the NFL Draft".

Well said 76er® ... The landscape is shifting to a dynamic where most talented college players are or soon will be mercenaries. As Clemson alums, rooted in the past and most from hard working families with a reasonably high level of values-based upbringing, it can be hard to fathom our great Clemson experiences and friendships being superseded by annual salary negotiations, but it is headed in that direction.

Hmmm, if you don’t think Dabo wants to win you are missing the obvious. He just feels the portal brings more problems than solutions. I don’t 100% agree with him on that but I do respect his position.

you don't agree with him b/c it's simply NOT TRUE...........if it were then the other 130 some odd FBS teams (sans acadamies) wouldn't do it.
He doesn't like it, so he makes a statement by not utilizing it in a way that it truly impacts our on field personnel.

I think he’s mostly correct. If it were me I would focus on guys from FCS programs or lower level FBS programs. I think a lot of these guys just want a shot to play at a higher level to prove themselves. Find the ones we think can contribute to fill gaps (instead of walkons).
I’m not sold on taking the power five guys in the portal. I question why a lot of these are transferring, and would rather have committed high school kids. I’m sure there are good ones wanting to get away from bad situations at their current school, so I wouldn’t 100% ignore them but I mostly agree with Dabos concerns.

Pig,
I think that is the exact reason some of us continue to point out players in the portal that could help the team. We think Dabo has stuck his head in the sand and is stubbornly refusing to change with the game. And we fear it will cost us going forward.

1) It's interesting to see where the highest levels of talent will be playing.
3) The player development you describe is not happening - at least not at QB, OL, or WR.
2) We all love Clemson, but based on the past 3 seasons, Clemson is no longer an elite program due to Offense and Special Teams.
4) Hopefully, Clemson Football and Dabo will reemerge among the best.

Lots of rumors going around about him. Even if he was interested in coming to Clemson, there would have to be some serious vetting.
Here are the gist of the rumors.
1. Not a good teammate. The typical "cancer in the locker room" guy.
2. Kiffen didn't discourage him from leaving, may have even opened the door for him and walked him to his car.
4. His NIL value is about 500K. He's looking for 3 times that much.
5. He'll be in Auburn any day now, if he's not already there. It's a done deal and has been for weeks.
Like I say, only rumors. But, rumors Dabo would be seriously looking at.

First off, I have gained more respect for you. Don’t know all the details, but you did right.
But anyways, yes I do know what I am talking about.
This post does not really warrant much research, even though I did do some on Judkins. His 1st team all SEC accolades and his stats.
What did I need to research?
If you’re regarding Dabo’s reluctance of NIL bidding, I don’t think that’s impossible. This team could very much use him.
