offense quickly, build mass, get used to how much faster the game is, all while adjusting to school being a huge part of your focus. For a freshman to come in a insert himself really quickly would have to be a special talent physically and mentally.

We've had other high 4's and 5 star WRs come to Clemson and never be more than role players in their careers. And we've had walk-ons come in and turn into NFL Wrs. Point is you won't know until you know.

My guess would be Bostic or Stacy Segars, the big stud guard who flattened Takeo Spikes during the Peach Bowl vs Auburn. Get that OL fixed, and we will love the results!

Offense line always has and always will be the hardest position to step in and play as a freshman. That's true of any school just because it's nearly impossible to be as strong as a 21 year old whose had years of college development no matter how you trained in high school. It's more of a genetic gap. TE/QB are probably tied for 2nd. TE just because you never can be sure how a 17 year old kid will develop over the next couple years. And QB is a big mental game.

Each of the last 2 years a FR WR has been our leading receiver, plenty can make an impact if given the oppertunity. No dif than years past with Sammy and Ross as well. Wesco and/or Moore will make some plays this year with Collins gone.

While you are mostly correct, there's obvious exceptions such as Justyn Ross who had a 1,000 yards receiving as a true freshman.
We had Xavier Worthy a few years ago that had 12 TD receptions as a true freshman. It does happen and you signed some really good WRs and after the AA game your WR signee showed himself probably even more impressive than the OL did in the Polynesian Bowl. I would have picked a WR over an OL for instant impact, personally, But, you never know until you know

Without a good OL the WR's don't get as many opportunities to showcase their talents. It's hard to throw a good pass when a QB is running for his life. I hate ugay with a passion, but they seem, always, to have a very good OL, and that can make a fairly mediocre team look much better than they really are.

Of course you are right about the OL, but that really wasn’t the point. It’s easier for a young WR to play than a young OL in most cases.

While I do agree with you about the difficulty of impacting early, we've had several, for sure. It's been a while, though. Wouldn't it be great if we have several at the same time, and a QB who has the skills, and the time, to execute and who can help maximize all that talent?

If we don't have the blocking, WRs don't have time to get open and QB doesn't find them!

While I agree with you, I'm excited to have an OL who gets that kind of accolades. I don't know if we've had one hyped like that since DF was coach back when we had dominating OL's on a regular basis. Of course, I'm very excited about Sammy Brown, too, and I think we have a good number of very good players. Let's hope that this develops into a beast of a team with great depth on O and D and special teams, as well. I want to see pundits dumbfounded the way Paul Feinbaum was when we stomped AL in the Natty.

I don't think it'll take long before Sammy Brown is made a starter. And I like both Woodaz and Carter; I just think Sammy is that good. I don't see how he'll be kept off the field.
