Just wondering.

Does he have a masters degree?

Does he want one?

What are his long term goals for his life? NBA? What about after the NBA? Can he do anything else at Clemson to better prepare himself for achieving those long term goals?

How important is an education for him? Or, has he already achieved whatever education goal he has set for himself to be prepared for a lifetime career?

Is he married? Is he engaged? What does his wife/fiancé think about him staying in school for another year?

I have no idea what the answers to any of those questions are. But, those are the questions I'd be asking him before I offered any advice.

He might have a really short NBA career, due to his 3pt shooting. He is projected as a mid 2nd rounder. I wouldn't be surprised if he had long NBA career or just a couple years. He can make a fortune abroad though. He is going to make a lot of money either way though. I hope he comes back, but maybe he should just get the process started. It will be interesting to see.0

He had a bad game yesterday, but has had a great season. He would get better next year for sure, but doubt he stays! Although Bacot surprised everyone when he decided to stay, although his outside game isn’t good enough for the nba. PJ can still develope his outside game in the g league and make an nba roster in a few years. Depends on what he wants to do! I hope he does stay for one more!

I don't think so. His game is about as developed as it is going to get. He needs

to shore up his shooting a little, but that can happen in workouts in the pros.

If he was injured maybe. He is at his ceiling as a college player. He is considered one of the top players in the NCAA this year.

If he's going in the First or Second round, I would leave. If not his NBA chances are very slim, ever. He could play overseas sure, don't know about the money over there. If none of these options are for him, I would take NIL money and come back to Tiger Town, work on Masters and maybe prepare to coach....

This thought struck me as I read this thread.

Fans, the generic "we," talk about how kids should be coming to college to get an education, a degree should be important, coaches should be preparing kids for life not just the NFL or NBA, etc.

But, the answer to the question "should PJ come back" were all based on basketball and preparing for the NBA, not on anything else.

Maybe we should be asking 2 questions:

1. Should Athlete PJ come back?
2. Should Student PJ come back?

I am told that he is getting pretty good NIL money. Selfishly, I want him to return.
