Will GA going back to back impact our recruiting in GA?

My first reaction is that it might hurt some but I also think there is so much talent in GA, and so few starting slots that GA can offer, that maybe it actually helps us in some ways. Kids want to go where they have a great chance to play and maybe some get a bit scared off about how much talent GA is bringing in.

True but there are occasions when we go head to head. Ga doesn't have a problem stacking talent and neither does Bama. You would think the same thing with osu and wr. Yet, they are now like we were, getting the top receivers year end and year out. Same with ol- uga and osu stay stacked. Some want to go where they think they'll get the best development. We don't have that reputation.

UGA and OH State have great OL more on the basis of unreal recruiting, as opposed to unreal coaching. Talent truly matters.
For taking diamonds in the rough and turning them into NFL linemen, NC State and Clemson have done better than UGA and OH State.
Of course, neither UGA nor OH State ever sign anyone below 4* … therefore they have no data from which to judge their success in actually developing O-Linemen?

Same as always, UGA will get all the 5* and the pick of the 4*........we will get a bunch of the 4* and the pick of the 3*. Same old same old.

Don't see much impact. There are roughly 250 D1 players coming from the state of Georgia each year. To but it bluntly, we are not going after the same players. UGA gets mostly who they want and other teams go after the other 230 players. On top of this, not all UGA recruits would be a fit in the Clemson system. I lived in South Georgia about for about three years. Based on local media, UGA is the only college team that exists. Of course NIL money will pull a few top guys away but we're not really a top competitor in that arena either. We will get some great players from Georgia but not the ones that UGA has targeted.

Yes, though they usually seem to get whoever they want anyway.

They already recruit nationally and do it well, but this could mean even more non-GA 5* caliber commits and undoubtedly even more interest from high level prospects nationally… so maybe it helps us with some of our priority GA targets that we’ve invested significant resources in?
Guys like Sammy Brown, Mike Matthews, Hevin Brown-Shuler

Probably. They are fishing the deep end of the pond where all the "fives" live.

Probably. Will all the players who get sent packing due to the lack of commitment of Kirby to them have an impact? I would bet it will, but most will turn a blind eye to the revolving door believing that it never could happen to them, until it does.

all bad for Clemson. Doubt we land some of the recruits like T Higgins, T Law had UT/GA been different. North Carolina kids might stay in NC as well. Florida recruiting has dropped off since both Scotts left.

I think they will take who they want in Georgia and leave the scraps for the rest.

No change. They will get all they want. We will get most of what we want. Georgia has always out recruited Clemson at RB, OL, TE, and DB. Clemson is more competitive at QB, DL, and maybe LB.

Dear slwcu79,
Your’s is a really smart counter-intuitive observation.
Indeed … with UGA being able to cherry pick throughout the USA, some high end players that are not quite good enough for UGA are then open to considering other schools.
There are also always a few who are looking for something other than simply being on a magnificent FB team.
For those ‘the few and the proud,’ Clemson awaits.

One might even argue that is what SC has been taking advantage of in SC recruiting with us...
