To cheer for. I need a fall back team to pull for once the power 5 teams turn pro down the road. Where can I watch actual student athletes compete.

If you want a winner (who will keep you interested in football almost until Christmas), go with one of the Big Sky programs.
Seems like ND St, SD St, USD or Montana St reach the semifinals every year and play a great brand of football. Since their overall school budgets are so small, their NIL booster funds will probably not compete anytime soon, either.
I wouldn't be surprised if Wyoming dropped back down to FCS. They've been "D 1" for a long time but had to reduce faculty bigtime during COVID. If they have a hard time recruiting anytime soon, you should expect it.

Obviously depends on where you live. In Upstate SC, there would be nothing better than Furman v Wofford. I am not sure if that matters to you since you don't realize that student athletes at all levels have to make the grades to have enough credits to be eligible. Do not listen to false narratives.

Some of these kids could barely graduate from high school. Yea they got to have the grades to play but who doing their course work.

I have been considering the same thing and Furman has come to mind. Though they aren't the best team, they are pretty good.

I pull for Furman but I am originally from Greenville and they were basically in my back yard! Very good in the 80’s, and were solid this year.
