Absolutely the best first half of basketball coaches and played by Clemson in its history.

Excellent offense
Excellent defense
Excellent strategy
Excellent preparation
Excellent execution

They were not perfect, but they were poised and patient, solid and strong.

A fantastic win. No fluke. Took it to the #3:team in the nation on the road in a hostile environment. Won wire to wire ,(right?)..

I hope Coach BB can bottle this and avoid any let down.

It was a great half, but I don’t know how you top the 2009 dismantling of Duke. Easily the greatest game of Clemson basketball I’ve ever witnessed.

1980 beat #1 Duke in triple OT . Had to be 13+ thousand in Littlejohn that night.

Excited for the win. Go Tigers. Excellent game.

Regarding first halves, possibly the 60 point first half against Auburn in NCAA tournament might eclipse tonight but hard to argue with the result.

For me, still our greatest game was against #1Duke in 1980. That overtime victory with snow outside and 13,000 packed inside Littlejohn will never be topped.
But last night was a great win for Clemson.
Go Tigers!!! Let's go on a run to finish the season!!!

I was there in 1980. Unforgettable night but I don’t think it tops this.

Inconsistency - UNC less than full strength puts an asterisk next to this win

Yes, the win is great, but in the evaluation of this team’s worthiness to be in the tournament, how can the committee look at this as nothing more than an “outlier” that cannot be included in the statistical analysis?

In this sense, the team’s inconsistent performance the adjectives for a win like this are amplified by words like: lucky, miracle, 1-in-million, caught-looking-ahead, never-happen-again, etc. and therefore, becomes an irrelevant win.

Swinney’s EMPHASIS on CONSISTENCY in performance is a WAY UNDERESTIMATED trademark of GREAT COACHING and KEY to success.

Swinney truly understands the importance of CONSISTENCY, PLAYING TO A STANDARD.

It is the CRONIC Brownell-team-inconsistency that just makes me look at this win as “meh, oh well, they got seriously lucky”, but does little to nothing to make me think that this Clemson MBB team is nothing more than another re-cycled team from the past 30 years, and you can take your pick of which one of those teams to compare to.

I believe this team has shown it has the right pieces. 4-4 against quad 1 teams now including convincing wins at Alabama and Pittsburgh plus one against TCU on a neutral court. Last night a solid historical win at UNC overcoming a late charge and some expected home cooking. The South Carolina win may eventually become quad 1.

Then there’s the Duke game where we can argue about how we should have played it at the end, but from my armchair it sure looked like the Duke guard committed two offensive fouls before he shot.

I prefer to think we’ve had our slump already and now we’re ready to roll to the end. It certainly won’t be an easy road, but I’m willing to see how it plays out. And always I pull for my Tigers!
