i find it hilarious that we lose players, to portal, and nfl, but we are stuck at 86, we were stuck at 86 before all the portal and NFL guys declaring, why is clemson the only school that can't manage their scholarships that none are ever available.. do you really think Georgia can take a class of 30., lose portal and sign 6 or 7 from portal, its all a joke, cause there is no way clemson has 86 on scholarships unless a bunch of dang coaches kids and project legacy kids are getting them and its poor management, its time to clean the kids off the roster that mean nothing,, lol.. my opinion, and don't care who likes it, its no way we are always stuck at 86.

What is really hilarious are folks who post about some player with a slight connection to Clemson has entered the portal. The chances that we offer are slim based on a number of factors and one of those factors is the fact that we have 86 players current on scholarship. Yes, UGA and others kicks to the curb every year treating them as a commodity to be collected and discarded on a whim. We know and appreciate Dabo who does not operate in this manner nor should he IMO.

Agree. Unless you think one of these legacy guys can develop into help team win championships we can’t any longer afford to waste scholarships. We miss on some of the better guys anyway.

updated by CUAtTheFinishLine® on this board then you would know we haven't been stuck at 86. Just this week, we've gone from 88 to 86 with the announcement of Spector and Shipley. We are probably done on announcements though which means we would need to lose 2 in the spring to entertain bringing in 1 during the post-spring TP period.

Please point out those players on those scholarships

Does 86 mean anything until August? I don’t think so. Who might leave after spring ball?

You seem to think folks are saying the fact we are one over the limit is the only reason we do not offer this young man. While it is a factor, there are many others to consider. For example, does he require a promise of immediate playing time or an upfront NIL payment? Is he simply afraid to compete? There are many more to consider.

Guarantee we’ll lose some during the spring. We NEED game ready lineman. None of us know who that is but hopefully Luke can find a couple or UGA game is going to be ROUGH.

We were.

But he's an OT and we return Miller, Leigh, and Sadler. Reed and Owens will be in year 2. We signed Wade and O'Connell. I can't imagine the coaches bringing in an OT with what we already have on the roster. Center is the only position at OL that makes sense now.

Leon...I see your points, but can never have too many OT. Ever.

To other ppls points, others will leave by the end of spring. We will be OK on the numbers regardless...

I don't think we will lose any of our OTs after spring. Leigh and Miller will start, while Sadler will play both tackle and guard. If any of them left, it would be Sadler. But considering that he's a local kid that plays starter snaps, I doubt he leaves.

Reed and Owens will be redshirt freshmen. I don't see either of them leaving. They both have an opportunity to crack the two deep next year, especially Owens.

The true freshmen aren't going to leave either.

Interior offensive line makes sense, but only center at this point. If we had others transfer after spring, I would imagine it would be interior guys like Linthicum, Howard, Pennington, or Tucker. They are all veterans that would be seeking starting opportunities elsewhere.

Rucci is a true tackle though. I just can't see us utilizing the portal for that position. And I seriously doubt he would want to come to Clemson and be forced to compete with Leigh, Miller, and Sadler for a starting spot. Nothing is guaranteed at Clemson.

Don’t worry about 86, a couple more players will leave between now and the end of spring practice and the end of spring portal window.
