I don’t get it

I thought about posting something positive about Clemson’s 2022 Football season, but there seems to be just too much negativity on the majority of the posts. So, I got to wondering what the coots board would look like these days (not going to stoop that low). I am sure they are talking about competing with UGA, Florida and Tennessee for the SEC East and winning the SEC. What a joke! They are a piece of crap and always will be, but they have that blind faith that keeps them going. The whole place is a $ell hole. Every time I go thru cootlumbia I pull over and take a leak to give the place a proper salute.
They just lost their Bowl game and finished 8 – 5. They have never won a significant championship of any kind. They believe their coach will take them to the promise land. Yet he has finished 7-6 and 8-5 in his first two years. Of course, that is good for them. They have only won 11 games three times in their entire history. But with all of that they think they are on the rise. Give me a break. Absolute insanity.
We have dominated them ever since we starting playing. We just finished 11-3, won multiple championships in just the last several years and have a coach that every major college program would love to have but we are doomed!
I just don’t get it!

AT HOME no less.
I'd trade our win over UNC in the ACCCG for a win over them this year any day of the week.
say what you will, but this 11-3 is hollow when you look at who we actually beat, how we played, and who we beat in our OOC Power 5 games..........which is NOBODY.

Be realistic. we are not going to beat them ever year (even though I would love to), but we will continue to dominate. Unfortunately we will slip up and lose occasionally when we are the better team.

again...it's not about beating them every year. It's about handing the game to them. No reason they should have beaten us.
I think an overwhelming majority of fans are happy with the football team and Dabo. Criticism doesn't mean you want the entire program scrapped. There are legitimate frustrations after watching the last 2 years. What would this team have looked like at the end of this season if we had been taking our knocks with Cade earlier in the season so he could have gotten some reps instead of giving him his first start in the Orange Bowl?
I would say that if we were running a summer camp for emo kids, the last 2 years would earn an A+, however, for football, I'd give it a C. I think Dabo would approve using ourselves (Clemson) as a standard. The last two years simply have not met the standard.
We can make fun of SCar all we want. And no, I do not think Beamer is creating a champion. However, they have momentum, which we do not. They closed out the season with wins over Tennessee, Clemson, and Notre Dame while we lost to them and the other 2 common opponents. It's going to be a long wait until next year. Glad I do not live in South Carolina right now.

"YOU" woke up the next day just like the rest of us and went about your life like another day. "YOU" don't have any say in what happens on the Clemson football team and "YOU" don't get to trade wins.
However,
"YOU" do have the choice to be miserable or not over sporting contests of entertainment. It is the Same choice we all have and "YOU" have to make it for yourself. I fully support your right to be miserable if that is what "YOU" choose.

going to react once we have a couple subpar years (which i said was inevitable) because it goes in cycles. If everyone can weather the storm and stay positive we'll get it back but if everyone is just a new dumper style fanbase then we'll go back to the cellar where maybe we belong.
Before this coach we were just another ACC team. And will go back to another ACC team once he's moved on. And perspective please... a conference Championship still goes in the trophy case and on the banner. Great accomplishment in a perceived "Down" year. Love those championship winning crappy years.
This team just needs a couple of dogs.. a Sammy Watkins and a Christian Wilkins type to step in. The overall base is solid. Just need a couple of superstars to step in and lead. Its the superstars that get you the championship but they gotta have solid group behind them fill in the gaps.
The coach knows what its supposed to look like. Give grace to the supposed "lean" years just like you gave praise during the rich ones. We'll be alright as long as ya'll don't start emailing the AD and causing unnecessary friction like petulant children.

While I agree with you, I also find myself as mad as the next guy about our play and season. I 100% think we need a couple of superstars on the roster in order to win the whole thing. But, I believe our coaches need to do a better job developing what we have, so we can compete for the hardware each year. There are going to be off years. But either get the guys from the portal/recruiting, or make what we have much better. There is too much talk about players not getting better and even regressing to think our coaches are making our guys better at key positions.

Dabo has ignored GLARING issues the last 3-4 years b/c he, along with most fans on here, have been BLINDED by just the WINS.
We peaked in 2018 with a beatdown of Bama
2019 - Got Beatdown by LSU.........."Happy to get to the National Title"
2020 - Got beatdown by OSU.........."Happy to make the playoffs"
2021 - first 3 loss season in almost a decade................."Got to 10-wins"
2022 - back2back 3 loss seasons & lost to rival..............."Got a 10+ win season and an ACC Championship"
the goalposts have been moved every year............the trendline has been on a downward trend since 2018, but Dabo NEVER tweaked his approach to Portal, schollie management, Coaching hires/fires, etc.. and it's SHOWING over the last 3-4 years

what makes you think the portal will fix anything? And Dabo says he'll use it if it helps and he's tried and we've missed on some guys from what I hear. I think the portal is tricky b/c you have to be willing to tamper and get in early with kids in order to score on the big names. He just isn't going to do that. I think also there will be a general trickle down effect to the big city, donor base, schools b/c of NIL. We can't compete with L.A., Columbus, Austin, or Miami in the coming years. Their purses will be much greater than here in Pickens county. And that doesn't have anything to with any coach its just geography and businesses money. Heck we can't compete with Columbia with all their lawyer money and Murdaugh types.
But coordinator coaching I can get on board with. I would like to see a fresh mind in the offensive scheming and playcalling arena. And thats where I hope Dabo can make some headway. Our recruiting increased when we hired the hot new item in Chad Morris and even if it wasn't him who coached Deshaun it was him who attracted him here. Without Deshaun we don't win those national championships. And I think we need that new re-invention bc we're due. I think Dabo will get there as long as our fanbase doesn't whine too much publicly about our OC or DC and create at stubbornness in DAbo where he wants to prove the squeaky wheels wrong.

We had Turner, Swinney, & Spector playing significant snaps in the Orange Bowl............the portal anytime over the last 2 years could've prevented that from happening...........that's just one example for one position group (the one position group that needs the BIGGEST BOOST in talent)

I don't get so much negativity on Tnet either, except part of our negativity is why lamecock nation is so excited. They beat us, Tenn and almost ND, and had a good recruiting class. They have made up tremendous ground on us. We need to wake up and realize that, beating them is not a given as it has been the last few years. We still have a better program, but beamer is doing the right things for their program.

Don't confuse effort with results..... The ACC Championship is not well respected in the football world. If you look at our team right now, would we expect to be better that 8-4 in the SEC? Not likely given our performance against two teams from that league.
It's not the DJU aftermath, it's systemic. We are too inbred in the coaching staff and are being led by an amazing coach that can't change his standard to play by the rules that everyone else does. WRs are middle of the road, running back is good but not dominant, and the O-line continues to be mediocre, yet we still find no value in the portal. A "surreal" QB (because is the long lost great grandson of a coach) means NOTHING except Dabo shows he knows how to use the portal. Since he has established that - go find a few players that help immediately. Our DBs are marginal and really good DBs are flying off the portal every week.
Come on man, show us some effort and quit taking the "Holier than thou" approach before we are a for sure dumpster fire.
