to start conflict between factions. After 3 days of feeling bad I finally relented & took a home Covid test and it is positive. Kinda weird after more than two years working in schools and going as I pleased and never catching it- had symptoms a couple of times but had negative tests. FYI - the first strain had reports of loss of taste but
My taste for sweets & salty things have increased to a level that is very unpleasant .Runny nose and general aches are the worst symptoms so far. Have noticed that I feel better if I am outside in the heat than when inside but get tired quickly.

Think that had to do with the vaccines. I’m afraid Covid like other things we deal with yearly is here to stay. Hope you get to feeling better @clover65.

I’m curious what testing does for you? I hear folks talking about getting a flu test as well. I have never known anything that cures the flu or Covid. Does it not just have to run it course? When I had Covid no one told me I had Covid I lost my taste and felt bad so instead of spreading it I stayed at home until I felt better.

Yes, many of us are "elderly" too. Not sure when elderly begins but if I die in a way that gets in the news "elderly" will be the descriptor. Can't change that.

Testing positive should warn a person to keep away from others. Therefore, early testing is a good thing. Some of us have other maladies and don't want covid on top. Personally, I have been recently diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Look it up. There is no cure but I've been told I can "live with it". For how long? Docs haven't said. And I don't ask because they don't know. Bummer.

I had it at Christmas and never had any symptoms. Only a runny nose and nothing else. Only thing that bothered me was I stayed tired for awhile. Doctor gave me the pill that I wasn’t too sure of, but it seemed to help. Don’t know whether it was related to this or not, but when I got over it I had a mild stroke but came out of that ok. Just weird I thought. Get better and hope everything goes well. Push fluids.

there is a new strain out there, even with Omnicron,. around 10% reported loss of taste and smell. You are probably through the worst of it, the fatigue is because your oxygen levels are low. I remember the body aches were awful, I could not get comfortable for the first few days, then I felt more or less fine, but had fatigue and trouble focusing. It sounds like you have a mild case, or you would not be up and about.
