So if we move to pay for play...

Jun 20, 2014, 8:15 PM

many of the athletes that have a 'secure' spot on the team but are not the among the best players will have to worry about being cut right? I know Clemson honors scholarships to those that may not see playing time and do not wish to transfer. If this turns into a business, guys like Jenkins may be dropped after their first year or even after an injury right? It seems that players will get fewer guarantees with this move...

Also, what does this do for roster spots? Will universities be able to sign as many players as they wish?

The way I read it

There will be no limit to the number of players on a team. This would be a deathblow for teams in a rebuilding phase trying to compete with the top teams. The top teams would probably have 125 players signing 40-50 per year. The rich would just get richer and the poor get poorer. It would take a miracle for a second tier team (like Clemson was just a few years ago) to compete with the Alabamas, FSUs etc... of the world.

competition is really funny

how is it that small restaurants like Mack's or Tiger Town, ever compete with giants like Burger King or McDonalds? i can't figure it out. should't the rich get richer and hire up all the good cooks leaving all the smaller places with short, slow cooks?

i am horribly confused.

Well, to be fair, the 'owner/s' make MUCH, MUCH more

with franchises like BK than a privately owned business and their respective owner/s.

exactly and that's my point. if the rich get richer and have all the money, how do small joints ever hope to find a good cook?
