Not to mention, what the flying #### does any president have to do with a bridge construction project?

However, 'somebody' told him to say it.

This is the group who rebuilt I-10 in LA in 66 days after the 1994 earthquake collapsed the entire road.

That was a lot shorter of an area and less complicated in general. This will be 2 to 3 years depending when they start. They are supposedly going to build an entire new modern one. Thats what they are saying at least. Ravenel Bridge took close to supposedly 17 months. This price sounds like its not accurate though. Is this even possible?
"The Ravenel Bridge was completed in only 17 months at the cost of $6 million."

That makes way more sense. I was thinking a billion. That makes way more sense. So it probably didnt even take 17 months either. I was there for it, but I avoided Mt P and that way.

Yeah that article was absurd. I was thinking a billion would seem right. I recall when it was finsihed that everyone was proud that it came in under budget and was done faster than anticipated.

Maybe they can install a radar on the bridge that can detect an oncoming ship

I'm sure the thousands of terrorists we've allowed to wander across our border the last few years will be paying close attention to how disruptive this is as well as how long it takes to repair.

They don't seem like they would ever take down an important bridge. Too bold. Terrorists don't do bold things like that in this country.

No idea. Bigger question is how long will it take to get the port open?

Will it still be the Francis Scott "Key" bridge when reconstruction is completed? What are the odds for a new name?

9 months at cost of $4.5T for Bridge +
1

Lessee here …
Cost of the bridge = $1B if done expeditiously. Cost of the bridge = $2B if finished in 9 months.
Hidden in the Bridge Bill:
Money for Ukraine war, war against Syria (can’t shoot the Palestinians or Jews … where else should we spend Middle East war money?), war against Hungary (Orban is a Trump admirer), war against Argentina (Milei is a Trump admirer), and war against Canada (when Pouliviere becomes PM) … what am I missing. Oh yeah … war against FL, TX. Money for student loan forgiveness for any student that had nothing to do with a STEM or math based business curriculum.
Money to fly in / deliver by cruise ship the 30M illegal immigrants arriving in 2025.
That ought to cover it.
