Was there any explanation given for the technical foul?

Looked like Beadle simply handed the ball to the Duke player.

Also, on the Proctor step back 3 pointer in the first half it looked like his foot was on the line, but was not reviewed. Anybody notice that?

Its a delay game rule: Interference with ball after made field goal.

By strict interpretation right call but most non biased officials would simply give a warning since it was inadvertent and did not delay the inbounding of the ball.

Regarding the technical foul, I believe it was the rarely if ever called "delay of game" technical. It was a ticky tack foul and a very stupid one to call . See below

"Delay of game is called when an offensive player intentionally touches the ball after it has been scored."

"This rule was implemented because when the offense touches the ball, it's very easy for them to direct it away from the referee or from the opposing team. This can prevent the opposing team from inbounding the ball for a fraction of a second or more. And even the smallest time delay can prevent the opposing team from leading to a transition offense."

"Because teams began touching the ball to prevent fast breaks, while forcing more half court sets, it became the standard that they cannot touch the ball after it has been scored."

Then hanging on the rim during dunks is missed 5 times a game.***

It was clark, but i read that the explanation was that clark shoved it to him.

I thought it was a 3, but probably should have been reviewed.

Clearly a foul on Duke player missed on the layup and the absolute worst call tech call in the history of basketball. The Fix was in

It's because he shoved the basketball into the duke player. Fully justified foul. Pretty much the equivalence of taunting in football. When you look at the replays they showed close-up, Jack did shove it into his chest.

Look, if an unbiased person watched any bball game, between any team and slow it down, you'd find calls and no calls each way.

On the technical, what Clark did was no more uncommon than a coach standing on the court. Done all the time and NEVER called. The intent of that rule is to prevent the scoring team from delaying the inbound pass. This was no where near that. But to answer your question, the tv announcers never said what it was for but they did call it “ticky-tac”.

On the replay of the Proctor step back I thought it was a 3 but I thought he travelled getting there. He picked up his dribble and had the ball in his hands while his right foot was still on the floor. He then jumped back and landed with both feet on the floor. That is traveling.

The Duke player that got fouled at the end of the game also travelled before attempting the shot. Foul should have never been called.
