Usually I don't play conference homer but we have 11 teams with bowls and the SEC has 9.

Cuse has stunk up the place. ACC has 8 bowls remaining with the next 3 on Wednesday.

True.

Unless an SEC team wins. Then it means that the SEC is incredibly powerful top to bottom and any team from another conference would just die if they had to play an SEC schedule. Obviously.

We have a winner. Even before the days of NFL and portal opt outs it ONLY mattered when the SEC showed out. There were years when the ACC out performed the SEC in a big way in bowl season. Nothing was mentioned of it. Same narrative a week later about how deep the SEC is.

This used to matter but now only the regular season record matters. Opt-Outs and coaching changes skew everything.

Conference bowl records are not an indication of conference strength. Since the SEC has the best bowl ties, the SEC plays the toughest competition. The SEC is the lower ranked team in 7 of the 9 SEC bowl games. The ACC is the lower ranked team in only 1 bowl game. Also with the SEC having more players leaving for the NFL, the SEC usually have more quality players opting out. Using rankings and power 5 competition as a quality standard, the ACC has the easiest matchups.

Percentage Of Games Versus Ranked Teams:

SEC - 78% (7 of 9)
Pac 12 - 63% (5 of 8)
Big 10 - 50% (5 of 10)
Big 12 - 38% (3 of 8)
ACC - 27% (3 of 11)

Percentage Of Games Versus Power 5 Teams:

SEC - 100% (9 of 9)
Big 10 - 90% (9 of 10)
Pac 12 - 75% (6 of 8)
Big 12 - 75% (6 of 8)
ACC - 73% (8 of 11)
