Lol, “not a slam dunk.” The kid has a sense of humor I’ll give him that.

What I find stranger is that he decommits from Va. Tech, but

Oct 10, 2022, 7:30 PM

has an official visit set up with them for Dec. 12? This decommit may be all about trying to get an NIL deal, or a BETTER NIL deal, from somebody. And, there is nothing illegal about it, but if that is his criteria for choosing a school, his head is in the completely wrong place. Sorry for thinking that way, but that's the times we live in now.

“ He’s planning to announce his next commitment December 4th or 5th.”

Key word - “next”.

Nah, he seems to be more focused on himself. Would not be a team player in my opinion.

Oct 10, 2022, 8:02 PM

A bit conceited and his usage of language tips this off imho.

But his official visit at VT is December 12th?? WTH. This kid is shady. Stay away

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

From what I just read, Nikki said "next", not the youngster.

I think that is Nikki channeling a little Pigskin Prophet with the choice of word there . . . and it is extremely funny.

Good work, NHS ! ! !

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Not really sure about this one. He has no other P5 offers. I'm no expert but his tape looks just okay. And then reading the interview, he appears to have some attitude to him. Doesn't seem like a great match to me.

Dear Mr. CUTrue Tiger,

This post isn't directed solely to you; seems like most others on this thread share your sentiments ...

On to Misun Kelly.

Maybe this guy is too self-absorbed for his own good, and maybe he doesn't want to come off as a Clemson groupie who would crawl on his belly and howl like a cat for a chance to come to Clemson.

Is it immature for a teenager to express such sentiments in writing when the prudent thing to do would have been to simply write a 'thank you' Tweet and get on with it? Duh ... yeah it was immature. Now M.Kelly has sunk to the level of nearly every teenage boy who has set foot on Mothership Earth.

As far as Power 5 offers, we shouldn't GAS about them. If there's one thing that Team Dabo is good at, it's evaluation of HS talent. Team Dabo also has the stones to not worry about the political side re: getting approval from those outside the program as far as scholarship offers.

This isn't Dabo worship, it's based on evidence ... let's look at a few DB examples.
2 Star Cody Sensabaugh.
3 Star Kavon Wallace.
3 Star (or was it 2 star) Ryan Carter.
3 Star Isiah Simmons
3 Star Tanner Muse
3 Star Malcolm Greene

Let's let this thing play out (not that we have any other choice but to do so) on this kid.

No offense taken at all. I appreciate those that take the time to articulate their thoughts and opinions. You make a very good point regarding being immature. He wouldn't be the first and won't be the last. It is hardly a crime.

I would also agree that Clemson has a rich history of low and no stars outperforming their ranking. Whether it was due to exceptional scouting or development, it is always a feel good story.

However, I will stand by my no power 5 offer statement. To me this is more important than star rating as I believe there are many programs that can evaluate talent just as well as Clemson. We may need to agree to disagree on this one.

As for your examples of others without significant offers: Greene was offered by Bama, LSU, Florida, Michigan and others. Simmons offered by Michigan, Nebraska and others. Muse offered by Florida, Michigan and others. Wallace offered by OSU, Michigan State and others. You are correct Sensabaugh and Carter had no power 5 offers.

For the record, like you, I will rout like heck for him if he becomes a Tiger and would love to add his name to the list of under the radar recruits.

Oct 12, 2022, 12:43 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: New offer 'a blessing,' but Hokies decommitment isn't about Clemson for local athlete ]

Too many on this board think they are the Most High Judge of Character and that their chitt don't stink... Dabo has probably been around this guy a whole lot more than probably 98% of the posters and the other 2% are probably silent on the matter, so obviously, the offer is warranted and Dabo is willing to take his commitment since Dabo is all about character and fit on the team.

Kelly answered questions and had a conversation in a way that doesn't say he is Clemson bound, so what? As much as I say that a recruit that has the opportunity to accept a scholly to Clemson, should accept it, I know that not every recruit will accept it and that's fine because he or she is free to make that choice for themselves. When he chooses Clemson, who's going to write letters and protest outside the football offices to tell Dabo that he shouldn't accept his commitment? Who's going to tell Dabo to rescind the offer? Stop judging people, your Bible clearly warns you that you will be judged by the same measure by which you did judge... and that judgement will be for eternity and not just for a few years...

So now we are going after 3 star players

Oct 10, 2022, 9:09 PM

with unimpressive offer lists? We should easily be able to pull in players of that caliber, especially ones who are right in our backyard.

It’s odd that we are going after him, and odd that we don’t seem to be in great shape with him.

Seems like his Clemson offer is “like no big deal I’m taking them for granted” kinda deal. What is it Dabo sees here??? Hmmmmm…..
I trust Dabo but this one is strange…???

Interesting responses from him. He doesn't sound excited with the offer, at all. My guess is that offer gets rescinded, unless that attitude changes.

Sounds like trouble to me. He’s got OU and UF but no invite yet, now that sounds like if you don't get me now I'll go to OU or UF. Please pass on this one. Does sounds like a Portal later.

My Tigernet brethren, let’s all take a deep breath here. Misun’s comments here are simply a case of the classic “let me try and throw everybody off because everyone knows where I’m going to commit to” situation. It’s the same thing as guys saying “they’re going to shock the world” and then just end up picking the school that everyone already knew they were going to.

Misun is a very good ball player. Not elite skills (yet) but has the potential to be a very good slot wide receiver in our system with the right mindset and development. I hate to spoil it for the kid, but he is coming to Clemson. As much as he wants to throw off his scent, the staff has been in communication for a while, and they promised to make a commutable offer if he decommitted from VT. It’s no coincidence the Clemson offer came the very next day (or most accurately was announced the very next day). The VT official visit will never happen, I can assure you of that. This thing is over for the good guys and we’ll all see soon enough. Now get on the Misun hype train because I see a potential stud in our offense if he stays committed to the process.
