Tiger Softball …… does it look like

our bats have gone dormant since the FSU series. We have certainly done enough to win, but it seems like we are just not hitting the ball like before. Is it a hangover from FSU, or are we just facing better pitching, or have we lost a bit of swagger?

I am thinking maybe a long season and maybe not conditioned to handle this many games. Watching the broadcast today they mentioned it was a long season and bats have went cold

Yeah. It's actually been since the Tennessee game. We've played a very weak schedule, less fsu. Our best win is the uga game. I digress.

I went back and reviewed the different games. We've scored a lot of runs via walks, errors and misplayed balls that we just haven't had lately. We were facing lesser competition and hit a lot of long balls... if you review the box scores on a lot of our games, we would run rule teams without having that many hits.

And I do agree with the long season as in football, injuries and mental fatigue sets in. It's taken more of a toll on us because we lack developed depth. Sadly, I don't see us becoming a solid hitting team going forward either. Oh, we'll have a game here or there where we'll hit a pitcher a la nc st with Millie scenario. Good thing is we can continue to be in games with our pitching.

Va tech series is big to possibly gain some confidence.

It's not so much the number of hits, but the timing of the hits. Seems like our hits with runners on base have diminished greatly since FSU. Our pitching has been good, but I am not sure that we have a staff that can be dominant in a series like FSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and a few others. We have certainly taken another step forward, but not sure we have gotten to the World Series level yet. I hope I am wrong.
