Thought NFL rule was u have to get a TD on first play

in OT. These announcers just said for Jets Patriots game that a td ends it...Thought Jets get their shot too.

They have to get a TD on their first possession OR the Jets had to force a safety for the game to be over.

If neither of those happen, which just occurred, Jets get the ball next. They have to match or beat the Patriots score now to win or keep the game going.
