Those that constantly gripe about Dabo might just pause and remember how it was a while back! Graduated in 1972 and clearly remember how it was to lose to darn near everyone but a few ACC teams who did not count and were basketball schools anyway...nobody knew where Clemson was and didn't care...Danny Ford changed all that and got caught! Like a man he fell on his own sword...but we still had some notice...I dreamed of CCC having a great team the right way...now we do and we have national respect...not from the Marxist media but from everyday folks...they respect what we do and how we do it! Living in eastern Texas you would be surprised just how many folks comment on Clemson and our behavior and policies...want to lose that and go back to the past? Think hard on that one..honest opinions about football stuff is fine...Stay off Dabo`s a**!

and started signing black players. Dabo may have to have a similar revelation with the transfer portal! Not going whole hog with the portal like FSU's Norvell, but to use it judiciously to fill two or three holes each year! When everyone else is doing it, we don't have much other choice!

Totally agree with this post.
I was in school in the early sixties and winning football games was a real task! I don’t ever remember anyone calling for Coach Howard to be replaced! Of course it was rumored that he owned the place!!!
Go Dabo. Get us back to the top.. the right way

It does feel painfully similar to 2002 - 2008 though.
Wasn't it 02 where we lost 4 games by 13 points or something similar?
Currently, we keep finding new ways to lose a ball game despite being "3 plays away from being top 5".

We won 54 games in those 7 years. That’s under 8 wins per year. Our win % was 61.4%, and we were the 24th ranked P5 team in the country in terms of total wins.
In 2020-2022, our “down” years, we’ve won 30 games in 3 seasons, or 10 wins per year. Our win % was 78.9% during this span, and we have the 4th most wins among P5 teams.
8 wins per year vs 10 wins per year
61.4% vs 78.8% overall
24th in wins vs 4th in win
These are similar “feelings”?

Dude, you should relax. Yes, our floor of what is considered a successful season has been raised significantly.
Doesn't change that back in those days we said things like really are only X plays from being ranked Y just like Dabo saying were 4 plays from being top 5.
Those are SIMLAR feelings. Not the same. But similar.
Adding in your 2020 statistics just hides that we have lost 5 of the last 8 games. In 4 of those loses we did just about everything good enough to win except for a few bone head decisions by players or coaches. That is what's similar about now vs then.

Excluding 2020, even though that’s supposed to be part of “the slide”, still leaves us at 5th in P5 teams.
Still not anything like the Bowden years. Sorry but I’m not seeing it Vern.

Dabo is a victim of his own success. He raised the standard and is now being asked to meet it again. I hope he gets us back to CFP and championships. It takes a lot more than disgruntled fans to win a championship.
