I'm old enough to remember one of my third grade classmates getting measles and dying. Praise God. I had another elementary school classmate get polio. Her dad was a physician. Praise God for not taking a vaccine proven to prevent childhood illnesses, death and disability.

I saw a guy nearly die from tetanus when I was a med student. It's really cool to see these nearly dormant illnesses make a come back. Praise God.

Honestly, it’s a shame that trust has been damaged. That is the problem. The medical “experts “ did not help themselves over the past 3 years. It’s going to take some time to restore confidence.
Mistakes are made in the medical field just like all other professions. People can deal with and forgive most mistakes. But lie to the people and don’t expect some to come back around quickly.

Put that more on the government, and in some cases, the medical community changed their stances after studying the virus. There was a lot unknown about it and more was discovered later. The medical community wasn't "lying" to the people.

All of that should have absolutely no impact on the stupidity of the anti-vax movement/vaccines cause autism that existed before COVID, but here we are.

I’ve never been a part of the vaccine/ autism movement. Don’t care to even think about it honestly. I agree there were plenty of unknowns early in the Covid days. But in spite of the unknowns some of what we know about viruses was thrown out. Many unknowns were presented as facts which were later of course, proven false.

I'll list the lies.

Covid isn't airborne
It is not transmitted via aerosols
6 feet of distance is safe, since it only transmits through droplets
Plexiglass - A joke
It will go away
Vaccines stop (or even curb) transmission
5 days is all the time you're contagious ($$$ lie here)
One day it will go away
Long covid is all in your head

But I will save the best lie for the very last......

Covid is a pandemic.

That about sums up the lies. Now I can write a much longer list of omissions.

When I read a dozen studies from a dozen countries showing similar results, and those results directly contradict what the CDC says, and if after a year or more of the CDC saying "there is no evidence" of what the studies provided evidence of, and then after a year the CDC decides to do their own study, and they get similar results to the dozen or so other studies, and the CDC acts shocked at the results of their study, they do a 180 on their guidance.......

Thats lying in my book. I can only chalk up so much to incompetence. This is beyond even that excuse.

Excess deaths can't be expressed like that...

because it's a broadly measured stat across the entire populace.

In other words, if 1000 people were "supposed" to die and 1200 people actually died, you can't measure the cause of the 200 excess deaths...because...which 200 people?

What we need are the cause of death stats and see how that compares historically. I'm "guessing" that that takes a while to compile...if it's even possible in all areas.

Note...I'm not dismissing it...I think we need a lot more data and we need to be paying attention. If I had to guess, I would say it's a combination of a lot of factors, with a good chunk being directly/indirectly caused by shut-downs and quarantines (drugs, mental health, poor/late care, etc...).

Re: This was a problem before COVID

There is a problem with the multiple-deactivated-virus vaccines that the health agencies have apparently papered over for the sake of the ‘greater good.’

This long standing high handedness by the health agencies has received more scrutiny since the public distrust of the FDA, NIAIAD,CDC, NIH, and WHO has burgeoned in the wake of repeated intentional falsehoods foisted on the public since the beginning of the American public becoming aware of COVID 19 in Q1-2020.

Revelations about the health agencies flat out lies about the use of AZT to combat AIDS (with the AZT propaganda beginning in the early 1980’s and steadily increasing throughout the 1990’s and lasting into the first few years of the New Millenium) are becoming more widely known now as people revisit previous rumors of health agency ‘junk science’ propaganda. The big punch lines are:

Life longevity for those taking AZT was SHORTER than the life expectancy of those AIDS suffers who did not take AZT.
Although there is a correlation between AIDS and infection with HIV, a significant percentage of HIV positive people never get AIDS.
Heterosexual people who are infected with HIV are FAR less likely to (1) ever come down with AIDS; (2) for men to pass along HIV to women; and (3) for women to ever spread HIV at all -than- Homosexual men to spread HIV to other men. In other words, the health agencies and gullible medical establishment spread the unfounded and non-science based advice that AIDS was as much of a threat to heterosexuals as to homosexual men. This was done to broaden the public panic to induce everyone to take AZT if they ever tested positive for HIV.

Enough about the AIDS / AZT saga and how the public of 2023 is learning about why trust in our health agencies should not be an automatic reflex. On to the MMT vaccine ‘greater good’ propaganda.

Febrile seizures are one of the problems from contracting diseases such as Mumps, Measles, & Rubella. A singular febrile seizure event has very low correlation to a permanent condition of epileptic seizures (I.e., a lifelong recurrence of seizures that requires medicine to help control &/or minimize in intensity &/or frequency). Numerous febrile seizures, on the other hand, are correlated with a small … but higher … correlation to lead to epileptic seizures.

So why the vaccine resistance and distrust in the health agencies with respect to the multi-deactivated-virus vaccines such as the MMT vaccines? Here’s why:
(1). MMT type vaccines are far more likely to lead to febrile seizures in children than are the ‘single-deactivated-virus’ vaccines such as the ‘measles only’ vaccines.
(2). Administration of ‘single-deactivated-virus’ vaccines, each done in a single visit to the doctor, then followed at some future date (I don’t know just how long the interval should be) by a different ‘single-dose-vaccine, and then, finally … after yet another visit to the doc after another interval of time … for the third ‘single-deactivated-virus’ vaccine, would represent a logical improvement. Put differently, there is a correlation in the occurrence of febrile seizures with MMR vaccines than with ‘single-deactivated-virus’ vaccines. Three separate visits for the shot is safer than getting the ‘triple dose’ in one visit.
(3). This safety protocol could be further improved if each dose of ‘single-deactivated-virus’ vaccine is ad ii steered in two half doses on separate visits instead of a full dose on one visit.
(*). The objective is to minimize the risk of an intense ‘bad feeling’ in the child after taking each dose of vaccine. Spreading out the administration of vaccine doses is a logical means of minimizing the likelihood of febrile seizures.

(***). I can only speculate whether the health agencies had been too lazy to explore this hypothesis -or- if they tested it, knew it to be true, but then chose not to publicize this approach as an option for families.
(***). From what I’ve read about the frame of mind for leaders of the health agencies, political and economic considerations play a huge part in how they ‘follow the science.’ Deploying the ‘multiple single shot’ regimen instead of the triplicate MMR regimen would (A) cost more (more visits to the doc) and (B) make it more likely that some families would not follow through with the multiple trips to the doctor.
(***). Politically, the health agencies would not expose themselves for offering a ‘safer’ vaccination regimen vs a ‘convenient’ vaccination regimen. Instead, the best politics would be to simply characterize the MMR type approach to be ‘safe’ with the higher-than-it-should-be risk of febrile seizures being the ‘necessary cost to American society’ as being for the ‘greater good.’

(?). Why should those families that would choose to take the ‘safer’ regimen be denied this choice? Simply because it is ‘unfair’ for some families to be given the option of taking better care of THEIR kids than what other families would do?

There is much justification for Americans to be wary about implicitly trusting everything that the health agencies recommend.

Oh please. The left would still be mandating COVID vaccines, firing anyone who refused to get one and forcing children to get them to attend school if they had the ability to do so, and the medical community would silently sit by and allow it to happen just like before. The few who did try to speak out would be silenced online and be threatened with having their medical licenses revoked (due to spreading misinformation of all things) , just like last time or have you forgotten the law CA passed? You seem to think we weren't all around for the history you are so eager to rewrite. You should proudly own it instead of making up an alternate reality.

Those smug know-it-all leftists who, for years, derided the Covid vax skeptics as morons, idiots, conspiracy theorists, etc -&- vociferously supported authoritarian vax mandates (because their thought leaders in the Democrat party establishment told them so) are NOW taking credit for being wise and admitting the dangers and dubious efficacy of the Covid vaxes … because, once again, their thought masters have informed them of the changing narrative.

However, the majority of these same loud mouthed lefties are STILL deriding those who articulate the rationale behind other ‘conspiracy theories’ such as J6 was a FedSurrection, not an Insurrection, and Trump led the J6 insurrection, even as the evidence continues to pile up that J6 was neither an insurrection -&- that Trump had no role in any trespassing or destruction of property on J6. (Refer to Eric Swalwell’s testimony as a State of Colorado witness for the prosecution in the suit against Trump [the defendant)].)

The know it all leftists keep on keeping on with their stupidity, oblivious to the fact that everyone other than lefties know that the lefties are dupes. Nothing has changed in the minds of the mindless.

Only the worst of propagandists attempt to conflate the opinion of someone who expresses skepticism on a question of science or medicine as being an accessory to murder or wanton death of others.

Idiots saying things that you are saying now pushed the same social intimidation language on the skeptics of AZT as the ‘life saving medicine’ for AIDS sufferers. It took years … about 2 decades … of ‘outcast’ scientists, doctors, and medical journalists to fight the AIDS / AZT profiteer mainstream medical community and eventually to get vindication that AZT did more harm than good to AIDS sufferers and, more so, to people who simply were HIV positive.

People that say the things that you do are science ignoramuses. Sometimes the people who tell you what to think are correct; sometimes they are wrong. But the people with your cognitive predilections do not understand what circumstances are a risk for motivating a scientist or government health agency to compromise their ‘science’ acumen for the sake of monetary $/or career &/or social standing advantage among their (sometimes corrupt) peers.

Shame on you.
