Davis Allen ... doesn’t he have another year of eligibility?

Dec 6, 2022, 5:22 PM

It would sure be nice to have him back next season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He has his Covid year if he wants to take it

Dec 6, 2022, 5:23 PM

Dec 6, 2022, 5:24 PM

He’s an NFL ready TE right now. He’s not coming back.

Been my favorite player to watch since renfrow !! Guy just gets it done !

Some of our guys face interesting decisions

Dec 6, 2022, 5:28 PM [ in reply to Re: Davis Allen ... doesn’t he have another year of eligibility? ]

Ruke, Allen. What if they aren't projected as at least day 2 picks? Colbert posted some guys top 100 and neither is listed. Several other seniors, some who may be draftable, and others who are just good, college players, also have decisions. Jones, Phillips, XT, Mascoll, even Ngata

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What is Bressee going to do…….

Dec 6, 2022, 5:39 PM

It sure seems like he could use another year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's still rated a top 10 pick

Dec 6, 2022, 5:42 PM

how much higher can he go?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think protections have been updated since the preseason***

Dec 6, 2022, 5:59 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They're updated weekly by some guys and services who

Dec 6, 2022, 6:04 PM

do them, there are tons of guys who do. What maters though are the NFL grades to come back shortly.

Remember, scouts aren't drafting off performance, but projection. Bresee still projects as a beast

Re: They're updated weekly by some guys and services who

Dec 6, 2022, 7:31 PM

Yeah sadly we didn’t get the Full Bresee. Everything he went through this year was tough for him. Wish him the best though.

Oh ok, cool. Can you share some good links?***

Like to see all this group come back but Allen and Ruke will be drafted and will likely stick with a team. I would imagine that several of the others mentioned will step away from Clemson as there is not much they can do to improve their stock. Maybe some late round picks, training camp invitations, or just moving into the workforce.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They'd both be drafted, but the rookie contract is crucial

Dec 6, 2022, 5:54 PM

bigger bonus, more salary and more security in first 3 rounds. Rounds 4-7 have no guarantees. Rounds 6-7 many times you're better off an undrafted FA as at least you can pick who you sign with

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree that he will be drafted ... just wonder if he could

Dec 6, 2022, 5:29 PM [ in reply to Re: Davis Allen ... doesn’t he have another year of eligibility? ]

improve his stock with the new passing game potential next year?

We’ve certainly had “NFL Ready” guys come back before and help themselves.

Maybe just wishful thinking on my part ... ??‍♂️

Big Bresee is a first round pick on all the boards

Dec 6, 2022, 5:46 PM

Everybody knows what he can do and understands what he went through this year. He’s gone and will do well in the NFL.

XT, Davis, Ruke & of course KJ are likely all gone.

Just the right time and these guys will show out at the combine.

Davis?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would XT go?

Dec 6, 2022, 6:02 PM [ in reply to Big Bresee is a first round pick on all the boards ]

he wasn't projected well last year and this year didn't help him. First 3 round projections are what matters. If you aren't projected, minimum, first 3 rounds, you're smart to return.

So far that includes the obvious; Bresee, Murphy and Simpson, along with KJ. So far none of the others are projected first 3 rounds. But what matters are the NFL grades to come out shortly

He could catch 60 passes next and be the next Travis Kelce!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That’s my thought ... Davis Allen could have a really

Dec 6, 2022, 5:59 PM

special year as a super-senior and play himself into a much higher round in the draft.

Or he could just go and play himself on to a squad this year.

He definitely has a decision to make ...

Dec 6, 2022, 6:56 PM

Really like Davis Allen. Would really like to see what he could do with Cade throwing the ball. Wish him well if he decides to leave.

Dec 7, 2022, 12:35 PM [ in reply to Re: Davis Allen ... doesn’t he have another year of eligibility? ]

He would be 1st round with 60 catches under his belt and we have a QB that can throw him that many good ones to catch...how much would Travis Kelce have made if they`d have known!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed, but we don’t use one TE let alone two so he should

Dec 6, 2022, 7:24 PM

Go and we focus on Brinningstool.
