Yep. Its now semi-pro. Guys are paid to perform and free to leave if they dont like their pay or playing time, so the exact same standards absolutely positively have to be true for the team. If guys dont perform, they have to be released. In reality we have Pro Football(NFL), Semi-Pro(FBS), and College Athletics(FCS.).

I’m glad someone said it. It sounds read from a ######. I’ve lost faith in him as a player. I was pretty excited. Possibly two 5 stars in a row that are busts. Preceded by 2 that were legends and NFL starters. I guess it’s fair whether we like it or not.

Clemson is now the school that attracts the more religious (Christian) families. Dabo has been preaching it for years and it's the culture we have. I like some aspects of it but it often rubs me the wrong way for some reason.
The NIL speech a while back was the icing on the cake. Clemson has been molded in God's Name, Image, and likeness. Some folks ate it up but I don't really care for it.

He had all day to throw on a lot of his pass attempts. He's just too indecisive and refuses to throw the ball on time. I wish we would go back to up tempo fast paced offense. The offense was smooth on that last drive and guess what? That was the only up tempo we ran all day.

True. Better OL recruiting, better OL coaching, actual pass blocking from the RB’s instead of the awful hit or miss nonsense we’ve seen for 5 years, and WR talent(speed and attitude) and coaching. The kid has the talent, it is sad how far the OL and WR’s have fallen down in this program. Hopefully Luke will turn things around, although it was a terrible sign to see ex coach Caldwell on the sidelines wearing orange, we have absolutely positively no use whatsoever for a Vandy reject who stunk it up like a waste treatment plant for years to be anywhere near this program.

Just this quarter, he's had protection and still can't locate an open receiver.
Is he blind, or is no one getting open? That could be part of the problem.

Without reading comments I’m sure the “if he had a O Line to protect him” posts will be found but I’ve seen so many QBs have great performances and careers with below average lines I cant honestly make that Oline argument. I think a all American type receiver would help his performance more then a improved O line. watching him this entire season, when he does have time he still doesn’t look great, has a bad habit of rolling out right into the defenders being blocked, seems awkward when running or at least when he does that half slide, has a bad habit of running straight back when under pressure which results in a 20-25 yard sack. He makes some terrible decisions when under pressure, Is a bit slow with his reads which results in him holding the ball longer then necessary. But at times can make some great throws, especially downfield. On a good note, you don’t always need a great QB to compete for a championship, but it certainly helps.

Personally the last drive, drives nails in all of you that are complaining about Cade. 8 for 8 ain't bad. I do believe I heard that the final score of the Gator Bowl was Clemson 38 and Kentucky 35.

His sophomore stats are not bad. He has improved.
He will probably be a guy that can put the team on his back and win the game in his senior season.
I wish Clemson could have red shirted him in 2022.
He could have played 5 games and still be a freshman
Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Scar, UNC, Tennessee.
Clemson would probably have won 11 games and been in the CFP Peach Bowl (against UGA) instead of Orange Bowl.

I saw well his Oline is below avg and the WR options are limited. Just a coaching/mentality issue there. I don't care so you are, when u run for your life and get hit so much, it's hard to be consistent.
That INT yesterday had nothing to do with Klubnik and everything to do with the missed block by the TE.

This is a great comment. Cade hasn’t exactly lit it up but he has flashed. People are so quick to compare to Watson and Lawrence. They also forget Tajh didn’t take off until his 3rd year. He was a redshirt sophomore when he took over. I think Cade can turn into Bo Nix. Another example is Kenny Pickett.

Cade is not seeing the field well at this point in his career. He has receiver options every play, but when he doesn’t see them it doesn’t matter what the name on the jersey is.

Wrong ..... he is just not developing as fast as you want him too. All of us want him to play like Trevor and Deshaun, but they were exceptional from the start with way better players around them. In Joe Burrows junior year he completed 57.8% of his passes for 2894 yards ..... Cade completed 63.9% for 2488 yards. Burrow's QB rating was 133.2 ..... Cade's 126.3 ......but look at the players around Burrow.
Tine for some people on here to understand that it takes a while to develop QBs. I concede he still has a lot of things to work on but assume that he will and will get better.

He had better stats than DJ his sophomore year against arguably tougher competition. He has developed well and I believe he will be a stud next year.

DJ was a top two quarterback in the nation and he was a flop at Clemson. Klubnik was a top two quarterback in the nation and he’s been up flop at Clemson. Maybe the problem isn’t the quarterbacks but it’s something else. Personally, I think it’s our offensive line. Our QB’s never have time to read the field, make a decision, and make a throw while not under duress. DJ did pretty good at Oregon State because they had a fantastic offensive line. Our problem has been terrible offensive line play for years.

Do some of you not understand that in most all cases a QB takes time to develop?
Great QBs don’t typically show up until they are experienced upperclassman.
Fans are expecting everyone to be a Trevor Lawrence. That’s not the way things typically work in football.
Most every great QB we ever see is an upperclassman with experience.
It’s too early to call Cade a flop. He’s improving and the last drive showed that. Cade may very well end up being great as an upperclassman, but he’s not there yet.

back in my Cinci days. It was my local pub, so I wanted to give it a shot. Before I crossed the threshold, I choked back the smell of rotten cigarette smoke. My shoes immediately stuck to the floor upon entry resisting every step with suction cup-like protest as I scanned around for a dirty bar seat, not wanting to be rude at my local bar.
In surveying the room, many turned to give me an unfriendly stare, their sunken wrinkly faces searching for who interrupted their court proceedings.
As a waited for the bartender to take notice of me, I listened to the unintelligible hum of conversation between souls life had long passed by, their diatribe fatally dark and pessimistic.
After a few minutes, I quickly stood and left. I decided I could live with the moniker of rude, but if I stayed there any longer the same film on the floor may adhere to me.

So Eloquence became your escape? Did you actually leave the Cinci Dive and document this afterward, or did you just find the quietest, most inobtrusive spot to sit down and record your impressions--you know, while they were still "fresh" and all.
(BTW, I loved it! Reminds me of a ----, I guess I'd rather not say, since I don't want to "go" there again.)

Winning solves a lot of problems, but doesn't satisfy everyone.
To those who aren't satisfied, I'd say, remember how we all felt last bowl season after Cade's first start: over 600 yards of offense, 14 lousy points and no chance to beat TN.
Dabo had to fire a great Clemson man and friend in Brandon Streeter because Streeter just couldn't get the kids to the next level fast enough.
Even Peyton Manning had a rocky rookie season (as a pro). In a man's world, it's always all about growth. At every level. In every profession. In every aspect of life. Unless your ego requires you to play rec league softball, of course.

Lol this is his freshman year is how I look at it. New coordinator and we wasted last year playing DJ. He is doing just fine and getting better and better.

If Cade goes out and helps the Tigers beat Georgia next year will you be convinced? I have not giving up on him. The coaches see them compete at each practice. There has to be a reason he is the starter. Time will tell I am with the majority and I think he is not where he needs to be. With that said let’s see what another year with GR does before we make a final judgement. My concern is that when he sees the pocket closing he don’t even try sometimes to get rid of the ball. Also he will run out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage and lose yards without even trying to throw the ball away.

Just how bad is Vizzina to not justify getting a few meaningful snaps? Benching DJ in the acc champ last year made a huge difference especially as he likely cost us the coot game, but man, Cade ended up with worse numbers than ‘22 DJ and the O line can only take so much of that blame

If Cade has Justyn Ross, Tee Higgins, Jordan Leggett (TE) type of guys to throw to then would he be viewed as that bad of a QB? I think yesterday you saw a young QB with moxie that did everything he could to help the team win. Was his day perfect, no way. Is he a recruiting miss, I don't think so. Next year will be his second full year as a starter so hopefully we see the progression from year 1 to year 2. Time will tell.
