We have some terrible fans.
We outplayed a top 5 team in FSU. It took a defensive score and a missed chip shot field goal for them to take it to overtime against us.
They never lead in regulation. We were about to go up 2 scores when they got the defensive score. It was a potential 14 point swing.
Get it together folks.

Agreed SLWCU...
Another Clemson fan saying we have some terrible fan....SMDH. Lazy take....
ALL schools do; but you know what.....we have the best overall fans...bar none. Been to almost every ACC and SEC venue over many years. CLEM and UF season tix holder. Clemson has a classier, nicer fan base than all others. Period.
Clemson fans have a right to expect more from this team. The program has slid over past few years; nothing incorrectable....but some issues totally self-inflicted. The extreme naysayers and extreme sunshine pumpers need to face reality. We have issues.....but they are all solvable once the decision is made-------just like summer officials.
Changes are being made now...but you are never going to hear CDS mention them or say he had to change course.

This is why everyone thinks you are dumb. I didnt say even close to that. I believe we need to use the portal for obvious misses in recruiting/to replace outgoing transfers.

- yesterday was very dissapointing
- i still like our coaches, players, and think we have anoot to play for. Losing to a top 5 team in a game where we outppayed them is nothing to hang your hat on. Most of our fans on this board are overreacting
- we need to use the portal to improve our team.

What do you think fixes the underlying issues?
I dont think the portal fixes anything for this team this year. Remember these kids in the portal that are difference makers are expecting $$$ from NIL deals and a shot to show case their talent.
Coaching? Yea i think i can agree Grisham is in over his head and Lamanski Hall has the worst performing group of DEs ive seen i think ever in the last 20 years at Clemson and thats with true raw talent to work with.
I think alot of the issue is straight up this team is immature and young from coaches down to the freshmen. They are all growing up before our eyes. I see the potential in this young staff minus the 2 listed above, but unfortunately they need time to gain that seasoning and this fan base is not patient enough to see what that will look like. I do believe jeff scott coming back would be an insane improvement from coaching to recruiting, especially recruiting in Florida.
So whats the fix for this season? Bc at this point coaches are who they are and the portal cant help right now.

Forget this year. I hope we win out, but I don’t think we will.
For the future, I believe the most glaring issue that needs to be addressed is the coaching staff. We have too many inexperienced coaches. It is painfully obvious that two things have regressed over the last few seasons: player development and recruiting evaluations.
That makes sense though considering we have a bunch of first time coaches on staff. One should expect those two things to regress. I think the portal would have helped, others disagree. I think bringing in established veterans would have made the team better, others disagree.
In my opinion, Dabo isn’t likely to make many changes to the staff. He has to believe that they will improve with more experience. That’s fine, and also probably true. But in the mean time, the portal has to be used more. Not an overhaul of the roster. 2-3 pieces to help us in the immediate. It’s either that or replace a few position coaches with some dudes that have experience.
I can agree that this team isn’t really that far away from being a contender. I seriously think we are 2-3 pieces away from being undefeated. I think we were 2-3 pieces away from going to the playoffs last year too.
I get it, we’re close. I just don’t believe we can get over the hump with this current staff coupled with our inability to utilize the portal. If you asked me 10 years ago, I would have said we can get there. Now in this new era though.

If you really want to focus on this season, there’s only a few things I would tweak.
Overall, Riley and Goodwin have been really good this year. The defense is what we thought they would be. The offense desperately needs playmakers.
Adam Randall has to get benched. He gives us nothing offensively. Since we our WRs don’t switch sides, there’s no reason we can’t replace him with someone else.
The starting WRs need to be Beaux, Antonio, and Tyler Brown. Stellato is coming along and I believe he’ll get more reps. Tink Kelley needs to arrive as well. He has a similar skillset as Brown. It’s time to force him into some action. When TB got hurt, we put Hamp Green in. That has to stop. Tink needs PT now so he can help us by the end of the season.
Also, I would force feed Briningstool. He’s a mismatch nightmare. He needs 8-10 targets per game, IMO.

Who to keep or release. Grisham is not working out. Can’t decide if CJ is an issue or not as each running back has opposite strengths and weaknesses. Also Dabo needs to soul search a bit. I have never saw a team after that WV orange bowl that makes so many galactically DUMB turnovers . That is on DABO. Not the players . We have dumb fundamentals on offense. Defense has 90% of the talent to make up for obvious bad coaching but when starters are hurt it is glaring

I’m “All In” with you!!! Trust the process. We’re only one play away from having a great season, maybe going to the Mayo Bowl, but true fans will be there to support this team and these great, fantastic coaches.
Scoreboards do not define this team!
Moral victories for everyone!! I say we replace “Best is the Standard” with something like “Forever to Thee” because gosh darn no matter what happens I will be a loyal fan and will be happy with whatever crap sandwich this coaching staff puts on the field!!!

Could not agree more. Was I upset with the Duke game yes. But watching the FSU game I was disappointed but not upset. DJ could never have done what Cade did yesterday. Good movement and nice passes down the field. Yes he made some mistakes but this is his first full season and I am seeing growth each game unlike DJ who seemed to regress. One bad play with a defensive score and a missed field goal otherwise we would have won the game. I don't think we are out of it yet and we have a tough road ahead but I believe we can still finish strong.

FSU is nowhere near a top 5 team and as the season plays out people will begin to see that.
Even if they did get to the playoff… Bama/UGA/Ohio St will slug them easily.
We were also at home so we had the crowd juice with us. It will be a different story at Syracuse this coming week.
When did this fan base start accepting moral victories again? Did we return to the Tommy Bowden days suddenly?
FSU played a C+/B- type game while we played the best we have all year and they still beat us. That used to be Clemson. We used to could play a C+/B- type game against a team and still win. Now we’re satisfied with moral victories against a top 5 impostor?
My how the mighty have fallen. For those pumpers that can’t see it yet… they will after this Saturday bc we’re going to lose to Syracuse. Everything is setup for them to finally stick it to us.
We’ll see how many are happy with that moral victory after this coming weekend when we’re sitting at 2-3.

We played better yesterday. I saw it with my own eyes. I was there. But I also saw a coaching staff literally lock up at the end of regulation and put the game on the back of a "plan D" kicker who didn't see the field when he was here the first 4 years. How could our coaches think THAT was a better plan than taking a shot at the end zone? It's inexcusable but I've yet to read anything from Dabo say the COACHES messed up. That the COACHES "missed an assignment". But to me, as I literally stood 20 yards from the field, that was clearly the case.

To be fair to Weitz, he sat behind BT. Sentiment can be there, but he was also 4/4 on the day up to that point with a 30 yard FG already in the book. Why doubt him at that point? People on the board would be screaming the same thing if we had just thrown to the endzone and saying he already made a 30 yard FG so why not let him take a try.

The play calling to the FG, sure. We moved it down the field well but we seemed to have lost the momentum for whatever reason. At that point, in a tie game with 1:20 left, you go for the win with a FG.
Don’t act like if we still hadn’t converted, you’d be totally dandy with that call. The safe call there is a FG no matter how you slice that when your kicker is 4/4 on the day.

We are 1-4 in our last 5 games against power 5 opponents.
For a program that was considered elite just a few years ago, is still one of the most talented teams in all of college football, and who pays its coach the second most in college football, that’s a major issue.
This isn’t just about one or even two bad games. This isn’t simply about the ball not bouncing our way on occasion. This is a systemic problem within our football program culminating in a dramatic drop off.

But the frustrating thoughts are warranted. People don't need to go all in with firing everyone and giving up on the team but this is 3 straight years of playing below the standard.
We were pretty fortunate to win some of those games in recent years and this year it has gotten us to date. Things may change but fact is we are sloppy enough to end up with the L, despite winning the stat sheet.
We have 8 games left and I don't feel this will be the last one with just silly mistakes that do us in.

Stop with the moral victory crap. I agree that many have overreacted to this loss, but claiming we outplayed FSU is just b.s. We lost if we actually outplayed FSU we would have a win right now that we do not have. Stats don't say a whole lot when you can't put more points on the board than the other team. All Saturday's game really says is FSU did not have a dominant win.
Trying to comfort ourselves with good statistics just makes us sound like the Gamecocks and every other never-was college team out there. It's what losers claim...We're not that bad we put up great stats! or we had close losses to top teams which means we're better than we look! Just stop, it is every bit as bad as those screaming to fire Dabo.
