DIFFERENT sport and still be an amateur and play college football. Our own Kyle Parker played QB for Clemson in football AFTER getting a $1.4 Million dollar signing bonus from the Colorado Rockies in baseball, as just one example.

IIRC he didn't receive any of that money while in college. Same with Russel Wilson and Kyler Murray.
Just signed a contract for that value.

I believe Roscoe Crosby also signed a deal out of high school to play baseball. Never know what ever happened to that guy.

You're really misinformed if you think there are a large amount of players that are getting enough money to make a living off of.
Sure, Texas and Texas A&M, blah blahh...the overwhelming majority are getting free food, merchandise, and a couple grand.

If I remember correctly Chris Wienke (FSU) was as old as 28 when he played for FSU. Did the baseball thing first and then returned for college football.
He is now at Georgia Tech and while I know that CPJ is long gone, I think it is funny that GT needs one of the oldest QB to modernize their offense....
