The Unfair Truth of Tajh Boyd

Nov 18, 2012, 5:43 PM

Just before Tajh Boyd first came to Clemson, I like many of you, was a far too eager Farmer, impatiently waiting on a Heisman Harvest. I'd bought into the hype that Willy Korn was the answer to all of our pigskin prayers. He was the prodigy, the gunslinger, the local kid that would take us back to Football Glory. Then...that shoulder thing happened. Next up was Kyle Parker. Certainly nothing could go wrong with a cannon like that. We'd go 12-0 and play someone like Oklahoma for the National Championship. Never Happened. But somewhere along the way, I remember hearing something that a young, unproven freshman from Virginia had said. Supposedly, it went something like this...."I'm gonna take this sh!t over!". According to my sources, That young man was Tajh Boyd. I remember my first reaction when I heard it. I thought, "great, just some kid running his mouth that won't back it up on the field".

For the first time in my life, I have never been so glad that I was so, so wrong!

Clemson University has been lucky enough to have a handful of former athletes that you could honestly say "changed Clemson" during their
time here. Maybe one of those is someone from that 1981 National Championship Team, maybe it isn't.

There was a time when I doubted Tajh Boyd. There were times when I thought he didn't care as much as he should. I don't know whether I was right or wrong about it at the time, But I know this......

Tajh Boyd is Changing Clemson University!

And I truly believe that in 2013, he's going to take us all somewhere that we've dreamed about returning to!

play at Clemson. I live in the Hampton Roads area and one of the local news stations use to run a Friday night football brief called something like the tahj watch. Everyone up this way knew the kid was going to be good.

Amen! Tajh has brought back excitement we haven,t had in decades! Not to mention he makes time for his fans, and keeps a smile on face. He sets a wonderful example for children and gets the die hard alumni fans excited .

clemson. glad the young man chose us! he is one of, if not the best, qb's in the country and next year, he will get his hiesman. it is a crying shame that he isn't getting more respect nationwide.

this young man's potential. He is a close to perfect if not perfect qb for his system. Great arm with above average running skills for a qb.

No way boyd or clemson would be in the position they are with billy napier at oc. Nothing against BN...good recruiter not so much as an OC.
