Speaking of 2011 - Orange Britches policy?

My failing memory always had this notion that Dabo's orange britches policy went back to his hiring as head coach. Trophy Games = Orange Britches. Division titles, ACC champ games, State titles, bowl games, etc. But watching the 2011 FSU game that popped up on my YT feed. This was late September - Game 4, same as it will be this season. But we were in All Orange. So, my memory failed. Again. So, when did the Trophy=Orange Britches policy officially come into effect?

Not Division clinching. Was actually the first ACC game of the season that particular year.

Don’t think division would have been decided in September? I do remember early into Dabo’s years, we would wear orange pants on occasions. I just remember not liking that decision. I always wanted to just wear all orange at home. But now only for titles, suits me just fine.

Look at this Twitter thread. It details the history pretty well. In recap:
* Tigers wore orange pants 23 of Dabo's first 47 games, very much a Bowden approach
* 2012 Orange Bowl (WVU) loss saw a huge blowout in orange pants and they were closeted for two years
* 2014 Orange Bowl (tOSU) was the next game to see orange pants, a win
* Pretty much from 2014 season forward, they have been a reward for playing for championships

I'm not sure of the story.
But the whole Purple on Military Appreciation Day
and Orange on championship games
are Dabo things.
