Getting to the 20 win mark in college basketball is now the equivalent of just making a bowl game in football. Last year we lost yet another NIT game on our home floor. If Brad goes 0-1 in the ACC tourney and 0-1 in the NCAA's like the 2020-21 season, then this would be another failure.

One of the least desirable Division I basketball jobs in the country. No history, whiney fan base, football only mentality, rural location (although not as rural as it used to be) etc. Just ask the national basketball community. Some people around here are too dumb to recognize what they have -- one of the most solid basketball coaches in the country. Just check the history of Clemson basketball. I will wait. He is the only one build something. He is the only one to win ACC road games on a consistent basis. He is the only one to win in Chapel Hill. Prior to CBB, Clemson had just 11 20-win seasons in its history. CBB has had six 20-win seasons in 14 years. Just look around college basketball. Twenty wins is still the standard for success.

Doing more with less is a major accomplishment on a resume. Tell me again why a basketball school with better resources hasn't come after him. And don't give me that how do I know they haven't line. Brad would've jumped at an opportunity to go to a better situation.

but you also can't ignore the 12 previous seasons. Overall, the results have been largely mediocre and inconsistent. Even the last two season you specifically referenced are riddled with inexplicable losses to teams that we absolutely should have beaten, something that you often conveniently ignore.
You sound like a Gamecock during their 5-year football run when they completely ignored the fact that prior to that, and since, Clemson has absolutely owned them. Basically history only matters when it supports your agenda.

All I see from many of you is continued complaints about how inconsistent we are, how Brad didn't coach well, how we are horrible for having to win this weekend to get a top 4 seed in the ACC Tournament, etc.
I haven't seen you or any of the other usual Brownell Bashers say that we are having a good year. If I missed it, please share the link.
No one is ignoring our history, which is why our success recently is so impressive. We don't have many seasons in our 100+ years where we win 20 games, especially not two years in a row. We don't have many seasons where we have finished top 4 in the ACC, and that's true even when the ACC just had 8 teams total for many years.
It's weird how so many of you, out of your desire to criticize the program, minimize and downplay our current success and instead harp on "the last 14 years" of not making enough NCAA Tournaments. Well, we are making the NCAA Tournament this year, EASILY, with a high seed. We will be favored in our first game, and quite possibly in our second game. That hasn't happened much in our basketball history either.
If you want to dwell on the (few) negatives, that's your right, but you're missing out on what is a really good basketball team as well as a program that has really positive momentum.

because you're a CBB apologist. What you fail to recognize is the difference between complaining and simply stating facts.
Nobody said we are horrible for having to win this weekend to get a top 4 seed in the ACC Tournament.
The comment was if the team had taken care of business and won just a couple of those games they should have won (i.e., Miami, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame), they wouldn't be in that position. Again, that's not a complaint. It's just a fact and lends its self directly to the inconsistency issue.
No one is minimizing the current success, but there was still A LOT of inconsistency both this season and last season which was a big reason why the team didn't make the NCAAT last year.
The goal EVERY YEAR is the make the NCAAT and you simply can't ignore THE FACT that in 14 seasons, Brad's teams have only made four NCAAT appearances (including this year) which is entirely unacceptable to many.

The reality is we are a football school that happens to play basketball and that most likely is never going to change. It is this reality that drives the Brad Bros and their followers absolutely nuts. In the end, it probably doesn't matter if Brad goes or stays because this is just the way it is.

14 years, we know what he is and is not. We know we are not getting to March madness enough. We know we have not won the ACC. We know we lose to some really bad teams on a regular basis. We know we are losing the best player from the past few years.
Look at the entire body of work. The story speaks for itself.
