So... about this weather...

Sep 27, 2022, 9:21 AM

The forecasted track of Ian now looks like the center of the storm will be passing just east of Clemson DURING the game. (a lot can change in 4 days)

Y'all think this thing gets moved, delayed or adjusted somehow?

Going to make it real difficult to leave a stadium that night if we got tents flung everywhere, trees and powerlines down, and a foot of water on the ground.

Just typing outloud....

If I was in charge I would have an option to move the game to noon. It will still be windy and wet but earlier seems better and then at least everyone would get out of the stadium in daylight which would be safer in avoiding potential flash floods.

I say this a person who likes night games and stays within walking distance to the stadium.

Dumb luck that is the likely worst of the storm hits right at Gametime.

Weather Channel says winds will be 10-15 mph. Grow up ladies!

Awesome!

Now if we could just have the Weather Channel do something about the foot of water, we would be hunky-dorie.

Better yet, lets just push this thing towards the coast and not have to deal with it at all in God's Country.

A foot of rain is hard to produce out of the 1-3 inches THE WEATHER CHANNEL is calling for. But we are never going to get accurate weather forecasts until there is some accountability in that profession.

Why would this game be any different than Notre Dame?

Sep 27, 2022, 9:33 AM

What in this forecast is any worse than what was predicted for that night game in DV?

SORT OF LIKE THAT 100% CHANCE OF HEAVY RAIN DURING THE FURMAN GAME HUH. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT THE HAND WRINGING SO EARLY. CAN WE WAIT TILL AT LEAST THURSDAY OR FRIDAY BEFORE PREDICTING THE END OF THE WORLD.

This is a hurricane, completely different than a prediction of showers for the Furman game.

Can we please quit calling what will be in the Upstate a "Hurricane"? It will have long since been downgraded to a Tropical Storm at worst.

Again to quote The Weather Channel - the forecast for Clemson, SC Saturday night is 10-15 mph winds and a HALF inch of rain! Grow up ladies!

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Weather looking better for Clemson, worse for me.

Sep 27, 2022, 10:15 AM

I live in central Florida. 24 hours ago Ian was projected to hit Florida north of Tampa Bay. My house was projected to get 20-25 mph winds and 4 inches of rain.

As of the 8:00 AM update it is projected to hit the coast at Tampa Bay or slightly south and go up the middle of the state. The eye is projected to pass about 15 miles west of my house. I'm projected to get 40-45 mph winds and 10-12 inches of rain.

I've lived in central Florida for almost 50 years. Been through worse than this. It is more a nuisance than a danger. Worst case is we will lose power for a couple of days. We used to live in a heavily wooded lot and tree damage was possible. Not a problem where I live now. (Longest time without power was 5 days several years ago.)

Rain bands will begin this afternoon.

No way will UF play this weekend.

So, a couple inches of rain expected over 2 days and 15mph winds is a gigantic problem? Really?

What’s wrong with people? Bunch of chicken littles…

Get your panties out of a wad and put your orange rain suits on. Spot the ball.

30 MPH wind and heavier than usual rain - doesn't sound

whipping folks into a froth in CLT. I am certain that there will be a run on the grocery stores. shelves will be out of bottled water <- not sure why as water is gravity unless you are on a well. But this is what they do. Lived in CHS for 18 years and just kind of chuckle at the lemmings here.
