I don’t understand why Billy Amick has entered the transfer portal ??? The TP and NIL are some of the worst changes in college athletics. I don’t understand what these kids are thinking today. Some of them need to grow up.

IMO today’s athletes from little league to MLB players are so pampered that it’s bad for athletics. Athletic’s use to help build discipline and character while teaching kids how to work together as a team and to learn how to be coached. There are a lot positives that came from participating in sports.

Unfortunately it is now being used as a political platform, men clawing they are women so they can play in women’s sports.

It’s now become all about $$$$$, personal recognition, special treatment by fans or perks in general. IMO sports use to unite families now I believe it is a major reason for the break up of families.

I feel we have allowed the athletes to have too much influence over the coaches and the team. In many situations team sports has become more about personal recognition, $$$$$$$$$$, perks from fans and special treatment.

Athletes have taken control of programs and over coaches. Winning has become such a high priority that we have lost sight of more important priorities.

Sometimes we learn valuable life lessons if we have to stick with it and overcome the obstacles in our way. My daughter came home during the middle of the semester. Shenwanted to transfer from Clemson because she and her boyfriend of 2 1/2 years broke up.

We discussed her decision and the possible consequences if sh quit and if she stayed. Making her own decision, She told me Dad if I quit this time I may quit every time life gets tuff. So she contacted her professors caught up on her work and graduated from Clemson with honors. It has made her a stronger person.

I am so proud of her. It has changed her into a much more confident stronger person with character and courage.

It required a lot of strength and courage for her to finish what she started. I think We have are making it Much easier for our kids to quit when life gets to difficult. We have given them easier paths in life. It’s the same with today’s athletes. For almost 100 years kids survived with the previous transfer rules. When times get tuff in today’s world Now 60 to 70 percent of those athletes that enter the TP never get a scholarship with another program or finish college and get their degree.

IMO athletes hit the portal when things get a little tuff for them. If they don’t get the playing time or recognition they feel like They deserve, they look for an easier route or way. Instead of working harder they look for a path of least resistance. Something they may affect their life permanently. We are now teaching our kids they have to finish what they started. If things get to difficult we are teaching our kids to find an easier way.

Maybe Dabo stays away from the TP because he feels the same way. Let’s see how Neon Deion makes out by cleaning house and filling his roster through the TP.
