So the Big/Sec want guaranteed auto bids?

Not only guaranteed they want twice the amount of auto bids guaranteed. If this is granted idc if Clemson moves to either conference I’ll be done with college football. It’s one thing to always hear about the bias but to guarantee a spot in the playoff due to the conference your in is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of in all of sports.

Where did you read that? The official statement I read said no automatic bids.

The SEC will take care of their own. In this format, the SEC will far out number other conferences in number of teams and it will not be based on talent, only conference ties. Preseason biased rankings will make sure the SEC is far ahead of other conferences so many of their teams will be in the 12.

It just does what is already happening. That is why Bama got in over FSU. I don't have a problem with the new format guaranteeing spots to SEC and BIG. They are already guaranteed one spot each as is ACC. But they want 2 guaranteed spots. Maybe 3 before it is all sId and done. And probably deserve it. You could easily make a case for the SEC having the best 4 teams in country. Ga., Bama, Texas, Oklahoma and when Clemson and FSU get added, at least the best 5 teams. The BIG could say MICHIGAN, OSU, and Penn State as 3 of the best.
When FSU and Clemson leave the ACC, that crap left is no where near a best team in country.

Said it from day 1, if we don't get out of the ACC and move to one of those conferences you can say goodbye to our football future. The NCAA is corrupt, and the moment Texas and OU announced they were going to the SEC I knew this was the precursor to mega conferences that could then tell the NCAA to pound sand. Well here we are and it's just around the corner. I saw last night that with the current format 11 of the 12 teams in the playoff would've been SEC/Big10 with FSU being the lone outsider. Those two conferences now have almost all of the best teams in the country and have seen that the idea of blowing off the CFP and NCAA and making their own playoff is in the cards. Which way do you think the TV rights go then? That's right, so it's pretty clear, if we are to have a future we have to get our of the ACC, period.

ESPN which is the SEC and FOX which is the B1G have virtually all the power in "college" football. Make no mistake, they are the ones that are crafting just about everything in all this new Realignment process as well as how the new Playoffs will shake out. They are essentially making up the parameters as they go, and each time they tinker with things it is to make their two super conferences more rich, powerful, and dominant.

It’d be one thing if they were sports franchises but these are schools. It’s quite silly

Just like every other level of sports, things are our of control. People worship the sports and forget about the important things. It will have a reckoning. It has too.

Far as I'm concerned, the SEC & B10 need to either p*** off

& break away so they can do their own little invitational amongst themselves.
OR...the other leagues need to grow some cajones, realize they have more say/power banding together, stand up to SEC/B10 and quit letting them bully everyone & trying to dictate everything.

We don't know but the SEC and B1G may be anticipating further additions to their conferences for 2026 and beyond that they can't discuss just yet. Realignment is not over.
