Sitting on the hill

Jun 27, 2013, 10:52 PM

Hello all! This is one of my first postings here. I have been to several clemson football games. I was looking for tickets to the UGA game and found out the hill was general admission. I previously thought it was for students only. Can anyone tell me how to go about getting the chance to experience seating on the hill? Thanks!

for the UGA game, you might as well settle for any seat...

...and bring your wallet. Prices are going to be in the 200 range and up. Maybe at kickoff if there are any still around you could get a $100 ticket but that would be risky. It would be awful to be in that crazy environment and end up without a ticket. Come back for one of the other games and you should be able to experience the HILL without the fight and cost.

Thank you

One more question...we always buy tickets on stub hub. However people are telling me to just buy from someone up there near the stadium. Is this too risky for such a big game? How do you ensure the tickets are legit?

I'm not a student, but I sat on the hill for VT and SCar. I bought the VT tickets from a scalper outside the stadium, and the SCar tickets from someone on TigerNet. For the SCaf game, the rest of my family was in the upper deck. My sister (after getting a stamp on her hand from the gate while leaving at halftime) and snuck Back in with me after halftime. That's what I recommend doing. Get upper deck tickets for cheap, leave at halftime with a stamp, and get into the general admission gate with your stamp after halftime. Hope I helped!

**When I was a student (I am now a season ticket holder), I did the stamp/stub several times, but upper deck tickets and hand stamps are different colors than lower deck tickets and hand stamps.

We'd get 2 people with lower deck tickets to go in first, one would come out right after going in with the 2 stubs and roll-off the stamp on the hand of person we were sneaking in and give them the extra stub. Works every time. This way everyone gets in the lower deck before the game starts.

You will not be sitting on the hill. You will be standing the whole game around a rowdy bunch of students. I just graduated a few years ago. Being on the hill, you will experience one of the greatest environments. Only negative things I would say is your legs will be sore the next day and not suitable for young kids nor older adults (40ish+).

You will be able to buy tickets at the gate. Obviously it will be hard to find a group of tickets next to each other, but finding 2 or so won't be too bad. You may get lucky and pay about $40-50 per ticket, IF you run into the right people. But expect to pay $100-150 per ticket (non-scalper) and $200-300 per ticket from scalper.

In addition to what scoff03 had to say:

In recent years they have been checking tickets to get on the hill before the start of the game. It's hit or miss on whether you will get stopped. If you have a ticket for another section, just act like you know what you are doing and walk down stairs to the right (when facing the field; the stairs by the band section).

If you get stopped, you may have to try again, or watch the kickoff from the top and then work your way on (not really advisable at such a big game, it will probably be packed).

I have only missed a few home games since 2005 season, and have spent every one of them on the hill for at least the first half. If your legs can handle it, you will absolutely love it.

Or just sneak under railing. We always did this bc they "checked" for hill tickets for the last few years I was in college. Crazy. Or you can wait till the team runs down the hill and basically follow them at the end when the security brings the ropes down.
