I don't think there should be any buys. Take the top ranked teams. I saw on 247 Sports they were interviewing Dennis Dodd today. He said he was told by a media official if the SEC and Big broke away and did their own thing they would double their income. Don't know if it is ever going to happen but they are saying the college presidents and chancellors of those conferences are strongly in favor of a breakaway. Its all went to heck, anyway.

If they get what they want then I’m through with the bs they call college football. Maybe the ACC and BIG 12 should hold their own playoff and National Championship game. What’s good for the other 2 scum conferences should be good for the others.

at that time the big and sec making more money would be moot. just refuse to play them in every sport and its not an issue because you dont have to compete against them..funny thing is people would get tired of watching just the big vs sec play against each other in every sport with no other conferences scheduling non conference games against them

Also I think if it got to that, state governments would get even more involved than they already have for states with schools in the Big/SEC and schools that aren’t (think Florida, GA, SC, KY, PN, etc). Since dealing with many universities with ties to public funds a significant portion of the SEC/Big is beholden to politicians if it hits the fan and splatters too much.

draw a line in the sand on this issue.
It's simple: no automatic qualifiers in such a scenario or any title playoff is only for the B1G/SEC championship...not a national championship. And they need to pool resources for lawyers to make sure those two conferences cannot use the term Collegiate National Football Championship or any form thereof. Why? Because it will not be a national event. Period.
