Interesting to see who is really legit after both have cup cake weekends. I don't like Grice leading off, that's a bad sign, heard Ingle is suspended a couple games not sure how true that is but heard at the park today

Gamecocks have arms. They have no team speed. They’re not going to manufacture runs the way we will. They rely on slugging. They’re modeled after pro teams. When they run into good pitching which hopefully we have, they’ll be stuck in neutral

if you can not figure out why grice is leading off maybe you should not be at the park.

Attitudes are more positive towards baseball than they have been in over a decade. Enjoy it and give some folks the benefit of the doubt. It’s a great day. Let’s remember that Coach Coot started us off with a 3-4 loss to Maine.

I was very positive after we won the ACC championship in Monte’s first year. Downhill from there, but there was that moment of positivity.

No offense I am sure I know way more about baseball than you and Caden isn't a guy just for high turns. I assume since Cooper wasn't I. Line up Caden lead off, but trust me don't challenge my baseball knowledge or any thing about these kids or I could embarrass you

I’m a coach locally and even if Caden is hitting the ball like they said again he still isn’t your typical lead off. It’s day one and win sure they are playing around with lineup see what works and getting guys reps. I mean Binghamton is better than today…uncc on deck and ucf next weekend. Will be tough non conf.

coach been preaching to caden about contact, especially with 2 strikes. think putting him in the leadoff slot might have had something to do with it. pretty sure he will not be our leadoff hitter long term but hey what do i know. i never coached locally.

Ding Ding, got a winner. Going to take him some time to get the lineup he wants. Only so much you can tell from scrimmages. Must have been one heck of a battle for center field. Going to be hard to keep Taylor out of the lineup.
Was a little surprised to see Hoffman.

Ingle is recovering from an arm injury/surgery from last year, not suspended, don’t know where you heard that. Same with Taylor. Probably could have started today, but his knee following a meniscus tear during football season isn’t quite 100%. While Grice leading off may seem unconventional due to his power, hopefully it will encourage him to be more patient and see more pitches (a problem he had last year) since that’s the main job of the leadoff man. Plus he’s lightning fast and will be a threat on the bases. Lastly, he’ll only truly leadoff once a game. Imagine turning the lineup over in a crucial spot with guys in scoring position and having to pitch to Grice.. not fun.
But you’re right, the Carolina series will be fun, it usually is in baseball. One of my favorite rivalry series in all of sports.
