Florida’s panhandle got a few flurries and even some mountains in Hawaii got snow this year.

These days, students don't get a free day when it snows, they gotta do online school. All I know is if there's white stuff on the ground in SC when I wake up, I'm telling kids to get dressed, skip school, and go have fun. When the kids get old, they'll remember that much more than whatever was online that day.

We give our kids a free day. I don't care if they changed the rules. If it snows it's all fun day.

Im a warehouse manager, so I have tons of cold weather gear since our warehouses arent climate controlled. At most this year I've worn a fleece and beanie. previous years I would have tons of cold weather gear on lol

I dont know much about the state of Alabama, but I did get snowed in at the airport in Birmingham once.

Good for South Carolina. Now if it would only not snow in the Northern States we may see less “Snow Birds” as permanent residents. Temporary is ok.

I know…Have always loved snow and it just doesn’t snow here in SC like it used to. The best part is it can snow here and then melts a day later (at least off the roads). Maybe next winter…

I remember back in my school days in the 80's and early 90's we used to get some humdingers of a snow/ice storm in the upstate in late March.

I'm pretty sure that it was in 1973 that we had the biggest snow accumulation that I've ever seen in my 71 years in SC.

Yep, you are correct. We had a circus to get stranded and they put the Elephant to work pulling vehicles that were stuck. This was in the Lowcountry of SC. Also had a family of Italian’s get stuck at our Driveway. Naturally my Mother couldn’t let them freeze so we had the five of them join the 4 of us until roads were passable. For whatever reason my Step-Father had snow chains that fit our car and when we heard the store was open the Italian lady gave him a list and money. I will say it was the best Spaghetti and Lasagna I have ever ate.

I rember that snowstorm. I lived in the FL panhandle at the time. We got 2" there. When I saw my cousins in SC the following summer ('74) I told them about it in amazement. One of them had to one up me because SC getting well over a foot in most places was much more remarkable even though where they lived only got 4".
Did you live in the midlands? 20"+ there.

That probably means that we'll get hammered next winter. I need to make a note to do a complete service of my generator this summer. Nothing much worse than going without power for 2 or 3 days waiting for line workers to restore power...

& goes away. Army ruined snow for me when my last year active duty we got hit w/ foot of snow + artic temps on post & had to spend a week getting up before sun-up & not getting off til after sundown having to clean out motor pools for an entire brigade.
That said, 1 of most fun moments @ Clemson was got snow 1 year, had got out & about & by the 76/93 interchange, ppl had built a big snow sculpture of Scrat from the Ice Age movies.
