Problem when 2 CU QBs in 3 yrs get only 97-100 yds

total throwing yds each year against the Coots..and both QB’s were rated 5-Stars and #1 or #2 in their class.

Are our Coaches and maybe many other national coaches relying too much on the ratings gurus?

Or, is it developmental issues?

Whatever, having around only 100 total yards of passing is a failing proposition for any team wanting to play big boy ball in early January.

What’s it gonna take since we keep hearing they (the QB’s) are going to get better and in 2021, 2022 & 2023 they didn’t.

With a QB leaving the program today, rightfully so after 4 years of warming the bench, does Dabo & staff go after an experienced portal QB who could take over if Cade goes down next season since Vizz isn’t ready, either?

What thinks you TiGER FB Fan?

I think we should give it a break and let play out.

First, you are assuming Vizz is willing to sit and not transfer.

Second, this year we only averaged 225 passing yards a game which was 63rd in the nation. South Carolina averaged 278 yards a game which was 23rd in the nation. It was obvious that our game plan was to run the ball down the long chicken necks so there is no problem with the passing yards we got.

Third if you compare our receivers the last 3 years to the prior 6 or 7, you have the other part of the equation.

Coaching can only take a team as far as their talent will allow them to go.

When you throw a pass only three things can happen and two them are bad,

Yes there is a problem when you throw

27 times for only 100 yards. Under 4 yards per attempts is abysmal.

If we had only thrown a dozen passes all game I would agree with you that 100 yards passing was fine. That's not the case though.

If you are running more...

passing yardage should be less.

Total passing yardage, but not efficiency

10 passes for 100 yards is much more effective than 27 passes for 100 yards and will likely result in more points scored.

Only looking at total yards is pretty silly as it only tells a small part of the story.

You guys probably never played football after peewee league. Clemson didn’t need to throw the ball. Defense smothered USUC. Chad Morris cost Clemson at least 2 games with his play calling against USUC!
