Agree 100%.
Folks like the original poster seem to believe that every year that Dabo has fixed our problems. And then every year, for the last three, there is always something "missing" whether it be an OL, a breakaway receiver, a QB, etc., that keeps us from making the playoffs and two of the last three years not even playing for a conference championship.

Folks like this poster forget Dabo has won the ACC multiple times and been to 4 national championship games with 2 wins.

Feel blessed with the run we had and confident we have another run in us before Dabo steps away.
Need to get back to recruiting top 10 and hopefully these 2 new hires will help in that respect.

We have never been a consistent top ten recruiting team. We’ve always been a 15-10 range on average with a few outlier years where we pull in an elite group. The difference is we didn’t have to worry about losing players to the portal and competing with NIL when we won 2 NC. What worries most is Dabo doesn’t seem to think we have to adapt to keep up, and doing what he’s always done will work. He’s earned the right to prove he’s correct, I’ll give him that.

We all seem to forget that even though we might have made a putt one day or caught a fish one day that it will happen again. I am not sure what the definition of "show up" is but I do know that winning in any sport is very, very hard. We have been to the mountain top 3 times which is 3 more than the vast majority of teams.

Clemson is replacing 22scholarship players(Grad/Draft/Portal) from last season's team
As of this post,and will grow
Bama is replacing 50
OSU over 40
UGA over 40
All they know is what ESPN/Media tells them to think. They don't see that teams are having to re[place HALF their roster,while Lil Ole Clemson isn't

I would hate to be in a position of having to replace 40-50 players. I think it’s a little easier for these programs when they sign top 5 classes each year.
Here’s the big question, and I don’t have the answer, will the 3 teams mentioned be better or worse next year? That’s one reason I’m so interested in the UGA and FSU games. A clash of philosophies will reveal much.

And the odds are much higher that those three teams you mentioned will make the playoffs, even with all of those roster changes, than Clemson making the playoffs with its roster having much less turnover.

You act like "keeping players" means you're a great team. It doesn't. You have a skewed view of how much talent Clemson HAS.........which is why you've been fooled into thinking we'd be good the last 3-4 years........and again next year.

Recruiting says otherwise. Coaching changes, Injuries and players not living up to rankings is what Clemson has suffered the last 3 to 4 years. The cupboard isn't bare and anyone that believes that needs to look a little closer. Go Tigers!!!

If you use it selectively where you are holding 4-5 slots a year to add depth and address gaps, that won't affect your culture or your long-term developmental goals. People who knock the portal want to pretend everyone is using the CO or FSU model and that is not what most of us are advocating for Clemson.
GA relies on their top HS recruiting but keeps a selective eye on the portal for key top talent that can help them where they need it, and where they can grab some experienced players to fill in until the young pups have further developed and become ready.

You know the Alabama issues are magnified because of Saban retiring so that example is somewhat skewed. The main reason OSU and GA lose players is because of the quality they bring in. Many of these are leaving for the NFL early because they are ready. And then, you have 4* and 5* players sitting behind 4* and 5* players on the depth chart and they want to move on for more playing time because they can't get noticed if they are sitting on the bench.
I wish we had that problem to the same extent they do because of our depth of talent but that is not our issue. What I also notice is those schools don't seem to have much trouble reloading and they still are consistently finishing in the Top 5-10 every year.
