Crazy to have to pay for parking if you're going to eat along that area. We don't even have any "free" spots to stop in and get an ice cream at the 55 exchange. Paying for parking actually causes me not to frequent those areas business = loss in revenue.

Better believe that I will skip a restaurant where I have to pay to park, all things being equal. Paying for parking is an absolute bane to my existence.

Churches pay no taxes but Clemson allows them to rent parking places on a public street. Why r they not charged with meters ?????

In other words, no, you aren't getting ripped off to visit a merchant. but the metered usage means maybe there will be better turn-over with the spots so that trying to find a parking spot won't involve having to convert to Lutheranism.

Instead of charging for parking everywhere, why not just build a parking lot by the Seneca Airport, block off all the streets downtown Clemson and shuttle shoppers back and forth with a $5 RT ticket.

You can still get some money until downtown Clemson finally dries up and be broke again when all the business have moved to the Hartwell Village Shopping Center.
