because the best (there are exceptions) OL are usually the meanest, nastiest SOBs on the field. Our style has been incredibly successful and I wouldnt swap our culture with UGA or LSU for anything but the best, baddest OL aint coming to Clem. Robbie didnt do it for them and Austin wont either.
That being said, our 3 star OL can still win us Nattys, as long as we get the best, baddest QBs and WRs to offset the avg OL. We will never compete with UGA, LSU, BAMA, ND, etc for the big nasties up front, but we can still beat them, just have to coach up what we have there and excel in the skill spots.

Exactly, that's what I'm saying. Just dont think we are ever going to attract the best and baddest OL thus We have to coach up what we have and surround them with superior QB and skill players.

What exactly do you mean by culture? What is it about Clemson’s culture that you think limits them from recruiting top notch lineman?

There may be some truth in this assessment. Take a look at the last years Orange Bowl lost to Tennessee when Klubnik was getting knocked around and the semi-final lost to Bama when Kelly Bryant couldn't throw and the pass rush eventually was too much.

D can most always bring one more than we can protect. Tenn. did that with a linebacker seemingly every other play. We drove up and down the field and spent as much time on Tenn’s side of the field as they did. Repeatedly shot ourselves in the foot and lacked a game plan to avoid LB rushes. ID rush, roll opposite side……

We have continued to grow our recruiting on the OL, we have the best recruited OL we have ever had now & it keeps getting better.

Every fanbase of every team whether peewee or NFL, the offensive line gets the most hate than any other position other than QB when the QB is bad. Even then the offensive line will still get some of the blame. Clemson is littered with Top 300 offensive linemen and their fair share of Top 100 offensive linemen. Jordan McFadden was a lowly 3 star and probably our best offensive linemen for the past 3 or 4 years. Blake Miller came in as a Top 300 offensive linemen and won the RT as a true freshman. To me, proving offensive line recruiting is one of the hardest positions to evaluate coming out of high school. Tristan Leigh, a 5 star, has yet to take a starting spot though I believe he is on the cusp. That doesn't mean I think they can't be better bc at times they played poorly. I'll leave it like this, Clemson has what it needs to be the best offensive line in the ACC and top 10 in the nation. Can they and will they is the question.
