One detail that irked me (Dabo)

Let me say I am a big supporter of DJ and am still pulling for him. I also know that he’s still our starter. But why the HECK was DJ the qb to run out for the kneel after the pick and not Cade? Cade provided that spark we needed and then wasn’t allowed to kneel it to seal the game? That pisses me off for him.

I’m sure he would have struggled with it.

Would put $100 on you being able to go in and successfully execute a victory formation snap.
That was an intentional message from Dabo. We can argue all day about liking the message or not, but it was not a technical issue with the execution of the play.

It was given to show support and let him know he’s still our guy because he is. We need him in two weeks in South Bend. It wouldn’t surprise me if cade wanted it that way too

I would guess lack of under center snaps in practice. Didn't risk a mistake.

Probably DJ is the ONLY QB who has taken a snap under center this year.

You should definitely let it #### you off. That’s the emotion you should instinctively feel when Clemson beats a top 15 team, makes a big come from behind victory, extends the nations longest win streaK, and secures a historical ACC record home win streak. Definitely want a dark side of the force vibe at a time like this.

He has been under center considerably more. Nothing else matters there.

I felt the same, but I believe it was because DJ had already been taking snaps under center. Klubnik was taking playing exclusively in shotgun. If Klubnik took the snap under center and fumbled, we’d all be asking why DJ didn’t take the snap.
They won as a team. That’s Dabo’s style.

Maybe Cade doesn't need hype? Some guys produce that internally. Cade is probably one of those guys who has unshakable confidence in himself. He seems to have that attitude. It sounds as if DJ may be a bit more fragile from a mental standpoint. He needs that reassurance from the staff to thrive and that's fine too. Both type of guys can be successful.

Replying to myself here - my question was a rhetorical one. I know it was a statement by Dabo but that’s the part that pisses me off. A welfare minded decision almost….the qb that doesn’t win the game still gets to seal it after the backup makes the comeback. Trophy for everyone!

The answer is clear to me...

DJU's confidence is made of glass. Days like today are REAL bad for a guy like him. Dabo seems committed to riding him, for better or worse... so he let him see the field one more time.
I sincerely hope that Dabo is doing all he can to encourage the younger QB who actually WON the game for him today. We're gonna need that guy to go 60 minutes one day, that that could be sooner that he wants.
